Our Aviation team is truly expanding and we'd like to bring on a new Senior Mechanical Engineer who will be essential in continuing our growth (across the country!).
As a critical team member the Senior Mechanical Engineer will manage and design HVAC related projects for our design build projects within aviation; terminal design for large facilities like O'Hare, Midway, JFK and alike!
What you will do:
- Design to client and regulatory requirements
- Manage mid to large size projects to schedule and budget
- Keep Milhouse Engineering management advised of all quality, schedule, and budget variances in a timely manner
- Manage team resources to quality, schedule, and budget requirements
- Shop drawing review and disposition
- Preparing project documents and reports
- Maintaining project files
- Creating and enforcing project quality plan
- Data and document entry into various platforms
- Reporting safety, health, and quality issues to leadership
- Prepare contract amendments, change order documentation, and claims documentation
- Support proposal opportunities that are strategically aligned with your group
- Participates in the RFP/RFQ process including, site visits, client meetings, scope development, preparation of project approach, technical execution plans, schedules, and interviews
- System Calculations (Building Loads, Pump Calculation, etc.)
Your background:
- 8-15 years of mechanical engineering experience within Building Systems/Build Design
- P.E required
- Proven experience supporting the RFP process and like bid functions
- Experience working on building systems within aviation, facilities, terminals, building management designs and/or commercial builds on large scale
- Extensive experience with HVAC design
- Also advantageous is your experience with treatment plants, pumping stations, linear work and alike
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
- Knowledge of CPM schedule analysis
