Senior Manager, Technical Solutions, Backline Engineering

As a Sr. Manager of the Backline Engineering & Automation you will be responsible for managing a group of senior Apache Spark Backline Engineers along with a small team of Site Reliability Engineers (SREs). You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations along with providing inputs for the tooling and automation of both support and SRE tasks. You will report to the Sr. Director of the Backline Engineering & Automation Team.

The impact you will have:

  • Hire, train, and mentor a team of Backline Spark Support engineers who handle escalations from the Frontline team.
  • Provide guidance to improve the Spark support experience within the Global Support Team.
  • Hire, train, and manage SREs responsible for deployments and maintenance of regulated environments.
  • You will oversee the development and implementation of processes and best practices to ensure reliability, scalability and performance of our production systems
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure operational excellence
  • 5+ years experience in Backline Engineering with at least 3 years of management experience
  • Strong knowledge on Apache Spark and other big data technologies such as HDFS or Hive.
  • Hands on experience building automation tools to improve productivity and overall operational efficiency
  • Good knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3 and RDS. Knowledge of Azure and GCP is a plus.
  • Experience in Python or another scripting language
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Linux system administration and troubleshooting
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer certification preferred
