As a Senior Manager, Reliability in autonomous vehicle software, you will be responsible for supporting the strategy and outcomes for how Cruise prevents and mitigates problems the AV encounters.
Cruise launched the first driverless rideshare service to San Francisco and we’re looking at expanding the service and offerings to new markets. The strategy for scale depends upon a robust system of interwoven solutions for preventing, mitigating, and ultimately resolving any anomalies the vehicle encounters. The scope includes prioritization of pre-deployment testing, fallback solutions for AV behaviors during degraded states, remote assist for when the vehicle is temporarily stuck, and mitigation of severity for situations where the vehicle can not be remotely recovered.
You will serve as a senior leader within the AV product team, evolving our innovation practice as we go to market. Collaborating broadly across engineering departments, you'll apply cutting-edge technology to increase the AV driving safety and quality.
Hire, mentor, and motivate exceptional teams of product managers responsible for designing, developing, and supporting products for autonomous vehicle software
Collaborate with your teams, product partners, technical leadership, QA, and internal stakeholders to plan and execute product roadmaps and deliver products on time
Continuously and transparently track and report your teams’ progress to partner teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership
Work side-by-side with Engineering leadership and Operations
Define and measure the output goals and important metrics your teams will use to measure success
Be a culture leader within Cruise, exemplifying our values and maintaining sharp focus on our mission
Possess a creative problem solving and continuous improvement attitude which leaves everything you touch better that it was before
Passion for safe, fully-electric, self-driving technology and its upcoming impact on the world
Ability to lead with multi-functional communication and collaboration skills
2+ years experience managing teams
3+ years of experience as a hiring manager, recruiting and retaining the best talent
5+ years of industry experience in managing teams who build and support scalable, cloud-based production systems
10+ years experience in integrated software engineering, complex systems, robotics/machine learning, or similar
Ability to learn quickly, starting with little information and quickly becoming a specialist in your domain
Proven success in detailed test plan design and execution
Clear track record of effective collaboration with customers and continuous delivery of quality results
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent experience
The salary range for this position is $241,700 - $355,400. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
