Overview:   

The Engineering Team at SharkNinja is looking for dynamic, creative, talented, inspirational and committed Senior Manager, Sustainable Packaging to drive development and implementation of sustainable packaging initiatives across our product portfolio.    

SharkNinja is committed to implementing our Sustainable Packaging Principles focused on delivering packaging solutions that are: Fit for Purpose, Right Sized, Responsibly Sourced, and Recyclable. SharkNinja is seeking a creative problem solver to advance development and implementation of sustainable packaging solutions in alignment with these Principles, ESG strategy and packaging goals. This individual possesses a strong understanding of packaging engineering and sustainable packaging solutions, a natural curiosity and creativity on how to leverage them in new ways, and an ability to collaborate cross functionally to bring these solutions to market. 

The Sustainable Packaging Senior manager will develop and implement our sustainable packaging strategy globally.  

EXCITING things you’ll get to do:   

• Develop and implement strategies to meet SharkNinja’s sustainable packaging principles and goals while aiming to do so for the lowest cost. 

• Identify, evaluate, and recommend opportunities to right-size and introduce new sustainable materials and packaging formats. 

• Collaborate cross functionally with product development, packaging and sourcing teams to implement solutions that meet packaging sustainability goals and cost objectives. 

• Engage with OEMs, packaging suppliers, retailers and other stakeholders to drive implementation. 

• Lead educational efforts within the company to promote understanding and support for sustainable packaging initiatives. 

• Evaluate the environmental impact of new materials and formats to continuously improve SharkNinja’s packaging portfolio. 

Attributes and Skills:   

• Strong understanding of current trends and advancements in sustainable materials for consumer-packaged goods. 

• Ability to understand all costs related to package materials and process. 

• Proven track record of leading packaging initiatives to reduce environmental impacts in an innovative and cost-effective manner to deliver business value.  

• Demonstrated expertise in sustainable packaging solutions across a number of formats including multiple fiber-based packaging innovations. 

• Awareness of current and incoming packaging legislation and global waste collection.  

• Experience in working to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders including internal departments, suppliers and retailers to find workable solutions for all.  

• Experience with lifecycle assessment tools to compare sustainability of different packaging concepts.  

• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills. 

• 10-15 years in a related packaging role. 

• Bachelor's degree in packaging engineering; master's degree a plus. 

• Willingness and ability to travel internationally occasionally as required.
