What’s it all about?

Reporting to the Head of Strategy and Commercial Operations for VCA in Europe, the Senior Manager, VCA Strategy & Commercial Operations will proactively evolve the VCA Europe strategy to address new strategic issues and opportunities, build strong commercial capabilities to grow the VCA/VAS business, and drive revenue growth and diversification. Additional responsibilities include driving key strategic initiatives, key functional governance, and applying performance insights and subject matter expertise to deliver the strategy.

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • Partners with team to execute the VCA Europe strategy through a cohesive, integrated data-led approach for the short/mid/long-term to drive sustained revenue growth, client retention, and service diversification

  • Leads on execution of Pan-European VCA initiatives that are of high strategic impact to business (e.g. GTM initiatives, subscription-based offerings, strategic bundles, client base diversification, driving industry verticals, university/talent partnerships, etc.). Partners with Hub/Clusters to deep dive into specific opportunities

  • Works in partnership with the Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development, and Digital Ventures teams to build strategic frameworks and content to influence, align with, and adapt VCA strategy and acquisition opportunities as well as drive post-merger business integration efforts of recent acquisition targets (e.g., Tink, Pismo)

  • Design go-to-market materials for specific advisory services in collaboration with respective market specialists and evaluate potential to scale these services across Visa’s markets and regions

  • Support Team Lead in successfully integrating new functions e.g. Visa University and incubating new areas e.g. Product Experience & Design, Sustainability, Government Engagement, etc.), fostering the ‘One Advisory’ mindset

  • Shape the proposition, offerings, and go-to-market approach to drive forward the commercialization of the Digital/Open Banking/Finance practice area in collaboration with Tink, enabling clients to advance their data strategies while enhancing VCA’s market position

  • Partners with Team Lead to manage orchestration of functional business planning cycle linking Multi-year Strategic Outlook (MSO) to Annual Operating Plan (AOP) to Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR). This includes ensuring Value-Added Services (VAS), and Commercial Money Movement (CMS) strategy, as well as Go-To-Market (GTM) plans, are fully integrated

  • Devise and deliver Advisory sales enablement training and tools to clusters, other functions, and AEs with support of sales excellence, e.g., Advisory training content based on VCA value story narrative. Acts as a point of contact with the Sales Excellence team for key partners e.g. Tink, Pismo, etc.

  • Partners with Team Lead to develop relevant content for key functional governance e.g., functional leadership meetings, offsites, and client councils 

  • Owns content for the Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) for all key stakeholders (ELT, Global VCA, Global VAS) and may assist in the creation of content for Monthly Business/Pipeline Reviews (MBR)

  • Promotes a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency in driving governance simplification, enabling high quality decision making and aligning to wider corporate governance e.g., Europe QBR etc.

  • Identify opportunities to drive process improvement/efficiency across business area

  • Leverages regional business performance targets performance (i.e., scorecard) and KPIs projections to drive performance improvement whilst aligning with both Europe Hub and Global VAS

  • Helps shape and define clear, measurable Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to drive performance and success within VCA EU and VAS

  • Owns the development and active use of thought leadership that builds a strong reputation enabling VCA to drive VAS and help clients boost performance

  • Identify and leverage potential synergies with non-advisory VAS solutions to shape and deliver pilot engagements for clients, VCA projects, and wider Visa product sales

  • Owns the development and use of key VCA assets such as internal and external VCA Value Story, Future of Payments trends narrative, etc.

  • Possible assignment to flagship client projects, providing expert knowledge and skills to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction, especially linked to key practice areas e.g. Digital, Open Banking

  • Actively participates in priority Global projects/initiatives. This includes executive newsletters, Global Thought Leadership as an SME and Europe Lead, relevant global practice areas involvement (e.g. Digital, Open Banking), AMK/RMK content. Act as a key point of contact at cross-regional level for key partners e.g. Tink, Pismo

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

• University degree, preferably advanced degree in business, entrepreneurship or equivalent
• Substantial relevant experience in fast-paced, dynamic work environments, preferably in management consulting or similar role at banks/financial institutions
• Experience from multiple European markets in client-facing role and conceptual work
• Experience in project leadership, people leadership and talent development
• Previous involvement in strategic Pan-Regional/European and entrepreneurial settings, in particular industrialization of service offerings and inorganic growth in digital payments / data space
• In-depth knowledge of payments industry preferred
• Ability to structure and manage complex cross-functional projects and processes with multiple internal and external stakeholders
• Proficiency in competitive assessments and business model analyses
• Superior data analytics and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to convey a clear message to clients and the business
• Ability to visualize complex information and clearly communicate compelling messages
• Results-oriented individual with confidence in juggling multiple projects while quick to adapt to shifting priorities
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with experience of being a self-starter and strong willingness to execute
• Demonstrated teamwork, resource investigation and relationship-building skills
• Confident ability to appropriately engage with both senior and junior stakeholders
• Excellent communication, story-telling and presentation skills, both with internal and external stakeholders
• Flexible to work onsite from the Hub location and willingness to travel (less than 15%)
