Senior Manager, Science Operations (Remote)

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Science Operations to join our Platform Operations team. You will be reporting to VP, Platform Operations. As an important member of our Platform Operations team, the Senior Manager, Science Operations will take an active role in coordinating strategy, project coordination, and deliverables within the Scientific teams that support our Platform development and ensure data delivery. You will work with the Platform Delivery, R&D, Science, Software Quality and Data Engineering team leads to support all projects and ensure the scalability and long-term vision for scientific operations.

BenchSci is a remote-first organization. At this moment, we are welcoming applicants from Canada and the US for this position.

You Will:

  • Help define processes that improve productivity, efficiency, and visibility across the entire Science organization at BenchSci.
  • Manage Science QA team process and oversee our move to increase automation of scientific data checkpoints with the Software Quality team.
  • Manage all necessary planning and reporting infrastructures, i.e. project plans, capacity planning, resource tracking/allocation, status reports, KPI dashboards, and team projections.
  • Manage a large team of contract Biomedical Data Analysts (BDAs), who work with our scientific data projects. This includes project tracking, resource allocation, and capacity planning.
  • Manage all SOPs surrounding scientific processes and infrastructure.
  • Run weekly operational reviews across Science and alignment meetings with teams to facilitate communication, remove roadblocks and provide support.
  • Oversee and maintain the necessary operational metrics for the Science Teams for company and board reporting.
  • Have a data analytics focus and build dashboards for Science teams to report operational and success metrics.
  • Work with Release Management teams to ensure smooth QA and data delivery for product and customer releases.
  • Work with Data teams to help coordinate external data deliverables.

You Have:

  • 7+ years experience in Project Management or Operations.
  • MSc or Ph.D. in life sciences or related fields and/or experience in pharmaceutical industry operations.
  • Experience with data processing tools such as Excel, SQL, or Python.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Knowledge of molecular/cell biology and genetic techniques.
