Please note that this position is based in either San Diego, CA, or Princeton, NJ. Acadia's hybrid model requires this role to work in our office three days per week on average.

Position Summary:

As a Sr. Manager, of Patient Reimbursement & Distribution Effectiveness, you will lead performance insights efforts by integrating multiple data inputs and engaging colleagues to develop a comprehensive understanding of the patient on-boarding, reimbursement, payer access, and on-going treatment journey dynamics for the organization.  You will be responsible for generating and communicating operational insights across our product distribution network (HUB/SP/3PL), providing performance insights and opportunity assessments for of our Patient Service and Distribution team, identifying areas for patient treatment journey process improvements, conducting root-cause analysis, and additional ad-hoc business requests as needed.  The ideal candidate will have knowledge and analytical experience providing insights around the access and reimbursement process using a hub/specialty pharmacy distribution model,  ability to leverage commercial biotech databases and systems, have a strong self-starting curiosity with demonstrated ability to develop and execute on a sound analytic/logical problem solving approach, ability to synthesize and effectively communicate the insights generated from their analysis, attention to details, work collaboratively, and have the ability to manage multiple project projects at once.  This is a cross-divisional opportunity that is highly collaborative with multiple stakeholders leading analysis of performance that drives decision making and process improvement across the commercial organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

Team Deployment and Analytics:

  • Leverage analytics tools and methodologies to interpret data from Hub, SP, SD, & 3PL channels to gain operational insights and assess areas of growth opportunity for relevant field teams.
  • Define patient support KPIs to measure, develop routine reporting and analytics that monitor trends and performance of patient support programs and distribution activities across brands.
  • Support the deployment, targeting, and activity prioritization of Field Access Managers (FAM) and Patient Access Managers (PAM) teams with the ability to deep-dive into detailed data analytics to identify key performance drivers around patient on-boarding process, the payer reimbursement process, and on-going patient treatment adherence/prescription refill process.
  • Partner and support the distribution team, by establishing KPIs and performance reporting/score cards to monitor Acadia’s distribution partners to ensure services levels are meeting defined expectations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate and partner closely with patient support and distribution teams to ensure reporting metrics are consistent across the organization
  • Partner with cross-functional teams in sales, marketing, trade, and market access to evaluate the effectiveness of current programs and strategize improvements to optimize the patient experience.  
  • Work in sync with, IT and data management teams to ensure data warehousing and reporting requirements and processes are adhered to.
  • Ensure data quality and availability through Hub, SP, SD, and 3PL vendors.

Performance Reporting and Monitoring:

  • Create a compelling story through data visualization tools communicating solutions to senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Monitor and report on Specialty Pharmacy (SP), Hub, and Specialty Distributor (SD) product distribution performance.
  • Develop predictive models to identify patients for proactive intervention.
  • Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports and insights for patient on-boarding and ongoing support services.
  • Generate reports and insights for QBR scorecard reviews and/or meetings.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Business Analytics, Pharmaceutical Sciences). Advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of experience in data analytics, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Comprehension of pharmaceutical commercialization, patient services and distribution networks. Experience supporting products within the rare disease market place a plus.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical data with demonstrated experience in specialty pharmacy, hub, claims, market access, and distribution data sources.
  • Excellent analytical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities with demonstrated abilities to think creatively and strategically to solve and answer key business questions/problems.
  • Advanced level of Excel modeling and statistical analysis techniques along with demonstrated proficient skills in Power Point.
  • Ability to work and learn in a dynamic, fast paced, team-oriented environment,
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, with a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with all levels of management, colleagues within other departments and vendors.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to present at a management level with the capability to dive into details when needed. 
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail, ability to multitask, and prioritize
  • Works with a sense of urgency without compromising level of quality and process.
  • Experience using reporting and dashboard visualization platforms (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau or similar).
  • Travel approximately 10%.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves regular standing, walking, sitting, and the use of hands for handling or operating equipment. The employee may also need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and maintain visual, verbal, and auditory communication in a standard office environment and while working independently from remote locations. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.  This position requires the ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedules or business needs.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location. 

Salary Range
$133,000$166,500 USD
