We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Senior Manager, Operational Excellence to join our newest brand: Factor (factormeals.ca), a healthy, ready-to-heat meal delivery service. You will lead the Operational Excellence team for Factor Canada focusing on the development and implementation of a standard operating model as we scale our manufacturing operations nationally.  Reporting to the Associate Director, Special Operations you will work across all functions and teams within our business such as supply chain, production, culinary, quality, ops tech, etc. You will lead several projects at the same time, support core operations as needed, and proactively propose new projects and opportunities.

What you will be doing:

  • Drive end-to-end value stream mapping, engage with the workforce, and collaborate with functional leaders to define a Continuous Improvement Program; own the management, prioritization and delivery of continuous improvement initiatives focusing on improving Safety, Quality, Productivity, On-time Delivery, and Team member engagement; Scope includes all site-operations functions: Cooking, Plating, Fulfillment, and Warehouse
  • Lead the Factor Canada Operational Excellence team, focusing on the development and implementation of standard processes, tools and equipment; Continuous Improvement program management - leveraging DMAIC and change management best practices; and Operational knowledge management, training, and development
  • Partner with the Global Stakeholders to define business and use cases for material management and production tools, systems, equipment and/or automation enhancements (collectively defined as CAPEX); Collaborate with Global Product Stakeholders and Local Stakeholders on the development, implementation and sustainment of CAPEX initiatives in Factor Canada production sites
  • Create and maintain an engaging, collaborative, performance-focused work environment; promote a learning culture by facilitating knowledge sharing and training sessions and developing continuous improvement capability across the organization
  • Develop and deliver communication and change management plans to internal and external stakeholders to identify and remove project implementation risks and roadblocks and effectively implement and sustain operational changes.
  • All other duties, as assigned

At a minimum, you have: 

  • 5+ years of project management experience in a Manufacturing and/or Supply Chain experience, targeted towards Continuous Improvement implementation
  • preferably with a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business or a related field
  • Strong understanding of OHS and Food Safety and its application in a warehouse and food manufacturing environment
  • An authentic leader, who’s able to build strong relationships, clearly communicate and motivate, and drive accountability at all levels
  • An effective collaborator, who empowers and enables others to share ideas, raises awareness, gets buy-in, and delivers fast and well-rounded solutions to complex problems
  • A strong analytical problem solver that identifies and simplifies complex issues and drives rapid, focused, and data-driven solutions
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and a can-do attitude. Used to working in a high pressure, fast-paced, and constantly changing environment
  • Drive and self-motivation. We seek a leader who competes to win and have the burning desire to make a meaningful difference in our business and the lives of our employees
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and warehouse systems and controls
  • Professional certifications and/or licenses with Lean Six Sigma preferred
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
