We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic Sr. Manager, Marketplace Optimization to join our team.This role is crucial for driving efficiency and impact within our Marketplace division. The successful candidate will lead three key functions: Marketplace Data & Analytics (DnA), Business Process & Documentation, and Configurations. This role will be responsible for tracking and managing cross-functional priorities, partnering with both our Product and Engineering teams on process development to support the success of our features, alongside the continuous optimization of processes across all Marketplace Operations functions.Additionally, this role will collaborate closely with our Customer Success team to identify and implement cross-functional processes that drive revenue and efficiency-centric opportunities. 

As the Sr. Manager, Marketplace Optimization, you will drive efficiency and impact within our Marketplace division. Leading the Marketplace Data & Analytics (DnA), Business Process & Documentation, and Configurations functions, you will track and manage cross-functional priorities, identify and implement scalable cross-functional processes, work with Product Managers on feature rollouts and testing, and optimize processes across all Marketplace Operations teams. You will provide strategic oversight, foster continuous improvement, and implement systems for analytical workflows and process documentation. You will also manage an escalation tracking system to ensure timely issue resolution. This role requires strong leadership, analytical, and project management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. This role is expected to last for 13-15 months pending the hire date.

Responsibilities: 

Strategic Leadership and Team Development:

  • Functional Leadership: Provide leadership to the Marketplace DnA, Business Process & Documentation, and Configurationfunctions, ensuring high performance and a culture of continuous improvement. 
  • Ensure the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data provide actionable insights. 
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Professional Growth: Provide guidance, mentorship, development, and success of team against goals. 
  • Mentor & Grow: Develop your team’s potential through coaching, regular feedback, and professional development opportunities. 
  • Innovative Mindset:Encourage a culture of innovation and act as a catalyst for change by promoting new ideas and technologies that promote continuous improvement and operational excellence.  

Cross-Functional Partnership:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate relationships with stakeholders (i.e., Product, Engineering, Customer Success) to support business needs/priorities and ensure cohesive integration of processes and strategies. 
  • Advisor: Act as a trusted advisor; provide guidance and insights to inform decisions and drive results. 
  • Priority Management: Track and manage cross-functional priorities/alignmentin the Marketplace Division. 
  • Feature Rollout: Partner with Product Managers to support the rollout and testing of new Marketplace features, ensuring seamless execution. 
  • Incident Management (Bugs, Escalations): Establish an effective system to track, manage, and resolve escalations, providing timely updates to senior leadership. 
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. 
  • Workshops and Brainstorming: Conduct workshops with stakeholders to identify process improvements. 

Operational Excellence & Process Optimization:

  • Operational Integrity:Implement best-in-class processes to streamline workflows, enhance operational effectiveness, and ensure robust governance. 
  • Process Optimization: Leverage technology, processes, and analytics tools to streamline core business processes to achieve significant improvements in efficiency, productivity, and quality. 
  • Operational Efficiency: Drive and build the optimization of processes across the Marketplace Division. 
  • KPI Development: Establish and monitor KPIs to track the performance and success of business processes. 
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports to senior leadership, highlight key insights and recommendations. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous improvement framework to assess and enhance processes. 
  • Benchmarking: Benchmark processes against industry best practices andidentify areas for improvement. 
  • Communication: Establish and own clear communication channels with stakeholders fortimely updates. 
  • Change Management: Lead change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new processes. 
  • Documentation: Ensure transparent and comprehensive process documentation, enabling accountability and knowledge sharing across teams. 

Escalation Tracking and Management:

  • Escalation System: Implement and own an escalation tracking system as a single point-of-contact to ensure timely identification, tracking, and resolution of issues. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Identify/engage key stakeholders, supporting cross-functional collaboration to address escalations. Provide regular updates to leadership on root cause, status and resolution of issues. 
  • Root Cause Analysis: Perform root cause analysis to implement long-term solutions and prevent recurrence. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Data Analytics, or a related field.  
  • 7+ years experience in process improvement, data analytics, and/or project management (e-commerce sector). 
  • Proven track record of leading and managing cross-functional teams and transformational projects. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights. 
  • Exceptional strategic thinking skills with the ability to anticipate future trends and their impact on the business. 
  • Ability to influence and build consensus among diverse stakeholders. 
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Project Management Professional (PMP) an asset. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau) and experience with SQL and other analysis tool an asset. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and develop innovative solutions.
