Archer Aviation is hiring a Senior Manager of Government Affairs to join our Government Affairs team. This position will be based in our D.C. office. As we work to enhance our efforts to shape the regulatory and policy framework for our industry, you will play a crucial role in defining the future of air transportation by engaging with regulatory bodies, government officials, and industry stakeholders.
Your success in this position will be measured by your ability to create a supportive policy environment for our products and services, engage effectively with stakeholders, and positively represent our company, the technology we are developing and the industry. Your contributions should bolster Archer’s reputation, further its objectives, and support the advancement of the AAM industry.
What you’ll do:
- Assist in creating and implementing a government affairs strategy to advocate for policies and regulations that promote the growth of the AAM industry.
- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant government agencies, legislators, and industry associations to promote the benefit of AAM technology.
- Track and report on legislative and regulatory developments that may affect AAM operations and provide insights to internal teams.
- Attend industry conferences and events to present the company's vision for AAM and advocate for favorable policies.
- Support grassroots advocacy efforts to engage local communities and stakeholders in endorsing AAM adoption.
- Represent Archer’s interests at D.C. based member organization meetings and events.
- Create presentations, briefing materials and documents for policymakers and regulators about the benefits of AAM technology.
- Stay updated on the AAM sector, particularly in the D.C. area, and provide insights on regulatory and policy implications.
- Monitor and analyze relevant legislation, offering strategic advice on potential impacts.
- Collaborate with the team to foster a result driven work environment.
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced setting.
What you need:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with government policies and regulations, particularly in transportation aerospace or emerging technology sectors.
- Basic knowledge of AAM industry concepts and challenges.
- Comfortable analyzing legislation and making informed recommendations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of discussing technical concepts and explaining them to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials, industry partners and advocacy organizations.
- Strategic thinker, able to contribute to policy discussions and advocacy strategies with the bias for action.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and the ability to gather information from various sources.
- Ability to provide support across different time zones.
- Experience collaborating in teams and contributing to shared objectives.
- Willingness to travel for meetings, conferences and industry events.
- Interest in sustainable transportation solutions and contributing to the future of the AAM industry.

At Archer we aim to attract, retain, and motivate talent that possess the skills and leadership necessary to grow our business. We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $180,400 - $225,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
