As the Senior Manager of Global Trade Compliance at Oura, you will lead the global trade compliance function, ensuring adherence to all applicable import/export laws and regulations across various regions. You will play a key role in aligning our compliance strategies with Oura’s growth initiatives. This position requires a strategic leader who can build and maintain strong relationships with external service providers, government officials, and internal teams to ensure seamless compliance processes.
What You Will Do:
- Global Trade Compliance Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive trade compliance roadmap for Oura, ensuring alignment with global regulations and company objectives.
- Regulatory Expertise: Stay updated on trade compliance laws, rules, and regulations in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Regularly review sanctions and embargoes to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate compliance risks by implementing effective processes. Monitor regulatory changes and adjust company processes accordingly.
- Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and regulatory constraints, and work with external partners to optimize compliance while maximizing operational efficiency.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with Oura’s sales, shipping, and logistics teams, as well as external customers, to develop compliant strategies that support the company’s goals.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Foster communication and build strong relationships across Oura’s functions, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
- Internal Audits & Compliance Improvement: Conduct internal audits, provide feedback, and offer guidance to maintain and improve compliance standards.
- Commodity Jurisdiction & Classification: Perform commodity jurisdiction and classification, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Export/Import Licensing: Coordinate with program personnel to gather necessary information for export/import applications and ensure that business and customer requirements align with licenses or agreements.
- Reporting & Analysis: Support reporting and analysis of Global Trade Compliance data for local, global, reporting. This includes maintaining trade metrics, conducting internal self-audits (Self-Testing), and ensuring adherence to customs and import/export requirements.
- Hazmat Compliance: Ensure compliance with all hazardous materials transportation regulations. Manage and oversee hazmat training, documentation, and certification processes.
Requirements
- This position requires 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Customs Brokerage License: Strongly preferred.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of international trade regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). A strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations is essential.
- Process Development: Proven experience in developing and strengthening global trade compliance processes, including building governance infrastructure.
- Industry Expertise: Technical expertise in the wearable industry is preferred.
- Travel: Ability and willingness to travel up to 15%.

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
- Region 1: $124,000 - $142,000
- Region 2: $119,000 - $135,000
- Region 3: $112,000 - $128,000
