Position Summary:
What will you do in this role?
- Believe in quality work and have a strong work ethic
- Have expert knowledge and understanding of advanced accounting principles and standards including GAAP, Yellow Book, OMB, FASAB, and all other government regulations pertinent to the engagement
- Are able to speak effectively before groups including clients, peers and management
- Able to read, analyze and interpret reports, financial data and information, technical procedures government regulations and professional journals.
- Able to supervise, delegate, motivate and provide feedback to staff, seniors and managers.
- Able to respond to complex questions and issues from staff, clients and partners.
- Able to write and effectively deliver clear and concise reports, business correspondence, procedural information, correspondence and financial documents, in written or oral format
- Are able to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished written or orally
- Are detail-oriented, well organized and able to work effectively both independently and with a team
- Are able to multi-task across multiple projects
- Have exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to interview individuals associated with the audit
- Are proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Are a self-starter and independent but also a great team player who enjoys contributing to a company that emphasizes integrity and quality
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting or related technical degree.
- CPA or 8 years of relevant experience
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in federal financial management
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or management position
- Proficient knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, federal regulations, guidelines, standards and concepts, or other relevant industry practices pertaining to the engagement
- Ability to supervise, delegate, motivate, and provide feedback to the team
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to speak effectively before groups and/or present information to clients, peers, and management
- Keen attention to detail, with strong organizational skills and ability to work independently as well as manage a team
- Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Maintain excellent client relations for the firm
- Meet expectations for attendance, punctuality, and company/client deadlines and abide by all company policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to travel up to 25 percent annually
- Ability to obtain a U.S. federal security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
Your Work Place/Travel: The majority of the work will be performed locally in Washington, DC, but there is outside travel to client sites. Some additional travel may be required. You must be able to transport a laptop and working documents to these sites.
Your Work Hours: Full-time. Core hours are 9 am-4 pm EST.
