Aprio’s Senior Manager of Executive Development leads Aprio’s executive learning strategy, ensuring the firm’s leaders are equipped with the skills and insights needed to drive business success. This role oversees a portfolio of blended executive development opportunities, leveraging industry trends and best practices to enhance program effectiveness. The Senior Manager will also oversee program budgets, track key milestones, and implement robust measurement strategies to assess learning outcomes. Additionally, this role will play a critical part in deploying talent assessments and supporting the firm’s succession management processes.
The Senior Manager of Executive Development role is a strategic and innovative leader with a deep understanding of executive development, leadership assessment, and talent strategy. They thrive in a fast-paced, professional services environment, balancing high-level program design with hands-on execution. This team member possesses exceptional relationship-building skills, collaborating seamlessly with senior leaders, subject matter experts, and external partners to craft impactful learning experiences. They are highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing complex programs, budgets, and stakeholder expectations. A proactive problem-solver, they anticipate challenges, adapt to evolving business needs, and drive continuous improvement. With a strong ability to influence and inspire, they both shape the leadership pipeline and model the behaviors of an effective, forward-thinking leader.
Position Responsibilities:
Monitor executive development trends to integrate cutting-edge advancements and maintain program relevance and effectiveness.
Oversee a suite of blended development opportunities that drive business impact for Aprio’s executive workforce.
Develop and maintain comprehensive program budgets, track expenses, and forecast resource needs.
Engage with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to create training plans, curriculum, and materials to address specific capability gaps at the executive level.
Partner with internal and external learning and development experts on delivery approach and modality.
Build strong cross-functional and inter-departmental relationships to ensure successful collaboration and support for the department's mission.
Build detailed program management plans that align with overarching program objectives and participant needs, ensuring a cohesive and impactful learning journey.
Proactively monitor program progress, track key milestones, and address any issues or bottlenecks to ensure timely delivery and achievement of program objectives.
Facilitate program sessions, workshops, and discussions to ensure active participation and effective learning experiences.
Delegate program and event implementation logistics to junior team members including scheduling, venue selection, communications, and material preparation.
Foster and maintain strong relationships with senior leadership to identify training needs and implement programs that support Aprio's strategy.
Model effective leadership behaviors with direct reports.
Oversee selection and management of external vendors for training content development and delivery, making informed buy vs. build decisions.
Implement robust program measurement and evaluation strategies, such as surveys, assessments, and focus groups, to measure impact, participant satisfaction, and learning outcomes.
Oversee Aprio’s talent assessment portfolio, partnering with vendors to deploy useful measures that assess and develop high potentials’ and executives’ leadership capabilities.
Support Aprio’s talent review and succession management processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Education, or a related field is required.
Advanced education, such as a graduate degree or certification, in talent development or instructional design is preferred.
Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) from Association for Talent Development is preferred.
Professional of Human Resources (PHR) or similar credential from Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) is preferred.
7+ years of demonstrated project management experience with the ability to collaborate on a fast-paced team and execute multiple projects simultaneously is required.
7+ years of experience applying adult learning theories to develop, design, and deploy training, preferably in a professional services environment or with executive level programs is required.
7+ years of experience collaborating with a variety of stakeholders and deliver proactively in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment is required.
5+ years of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively, especially with senior audiences is required.
5+ years of experience evaluating training program effectiveness through metrics, feedback, and assessments, making continuous improvements based on insights is required.
3+ years of experience in a leadership role supervising one or more direct reports, managing a budget, and executing departmental strategy is required.
