What a Senior Manager, Client Innovation does at Visa:
We are looking for a talented individual to lead Client Innovation Engagements in Asia-Pacific. The individual will be highly involved in key deliverables within client projects that have quick turnarounds. This role would ideally suit someone who enjoys working in a small team of humble and talented people, solving complex problems, and operating in a fast-paced environment.
To excel in this role, the candidate should possess the ability to plan ahead, think critically and lead from the front. She/He should also have strong degree of initiative and be driven to deliver a positive impact. A successful Senior Manager will also need to exemplify the human-centered design ethos, and apply it at the highest level consistently across all projects.
Core Responsibilities
To lead priority areas across the Innovation Centre’s mandate, including but not limited to:
Client Proof-of-Concepts (POCs)
- Defining project scope and approach, ensuring alignment with client and Visa objectives
- Craft hypotheses around challenge and problem statement, including formulating desirability, feasibility, and viability outcomes to be achieved
- Designing and delivering qualitative (e.g. ethnographic studies) and quantitative research to understand user needs and market landscape
- Structuring and facilitating client workshops (sprins) to design a holistic solution with a cross-functional team of designers, product managers, solution architects and marketers from both Visa and client side
- Ensuring top-quality client deliverables which include the value proposition, UI/UX, product roadmap, go-to-market strategy, commercials, solution architecture and development plan
- Drive eventual 0-1 product development for Visa
Practice Lead
- To represent Innovation AP as the subject matter expert (SME) on key innovation topics, and to lead global and regional cross-functional activities where Innovation is involved in
- Source for engagement leads with internal stakeholders (i.e. market and hub teams), to be scoped into pipeline opportunities and executed as client engagements
- To lead expansion of innovation practice to explore trending payments development (e.g. Web 3, Embedded Finance, Biometrics, Gaming)
- Serve as subject matter expert input on the Accelerator Programme, including sitting in on start-up interviews and supporting the execution of POCs
Thought Leadership & Knowledge Management
- Lead the development of thought leadership pieces to position Visa as the industry leader on payments and innovation
- Identify through thought leadership content on Visa’s right to play within emerging and untapped spaces where payments are involved
- Drive knowledge management, training, and other initiatives to impart Innovation best practices and knowledge across internal and cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong understanding of trends and themes in payments and commerce. Futurist outlook and passion for technology innovation. Understanding of Visa business and organization preferred
- More than 10 years of work experience with at least half of the time in innovation / design consulting or digital product development
- Ability to translate ambiguous client requirements into meaningful project scope and structuring the right project approach to get to the desired outputs
- Demonstrated capabilities in engaging stakeholders at the C-level – communication, presence, and thought leadership, with strong experience in designing and facilitating workshops based on human-centered design principles
- Experience in managing complex, cross-functional projects, with the agility and influential skills to work collaboratively with external and internal stakeholders across markets and functions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to articulate and structure technical concepts into succinct and easily digestible thought pieces
- Ability to coach junior members of the team
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree, MBA or Master Degree highly desirable
