SG 13 - This role is will lead, manage and coach a team of 2 Direct Reports.
As Head of Brand Communication and Public Relations, you will be a key member of the Marketing team (Business Area Replacement Tires the Americas) responsible for the development and steering of Continental brand(s) in the region (North & South America).
This position manages AMERICAS brand communication through marketing strategy, communication and PR activities in coordination with our markets. The role also leads BA events, internal communication and marketing communication projects.
Brand & Marketing Communication:
- Oversee all aspects of marketing communications, including digital marketing, public relations, and content creation for the region. Represent Americas in all relevant platforms related with communication (internal & external)
PR - External Communication:
- Prepare communications materials, including press releases, reactive statements and Q&As, and preparation and execution of interviews and media placements
- Develop content for the Americas region and adapt/"Americanize" global communication content e.g. OEM approvals, Sustainability
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive network (journalists, associations, NGOs, multipliers, project partners and authorities)
Digital Marketing:
- Orchestrate & guide social media strategy for AMER markets in tune to Conti global framework
- Oversee BA's online presence in coordination with market strategies and their performance
Internal Communication:
- Steer and plan all internal (including HR) communications, including marketing newsletters and All Employee Meetings
- Drive Americas Tires projects in responsibility, such as: Americas BA events / Marketing team events, Communication projects / focus areas etc.
Crisis / Issue Management & Legal:
- Develop and manage communication / messaging on product, compliance and legal topics
- Steer legal, regulatory and compliance processes related to brand and marketing communication activities
Communications Counsel:
- Provide direct communications counsel to executives on all matters pertaining to public relations and internal communications
- Develop together with the communications team strategic communications plans in support of executive initiatives
Leadership and Interface Management:
- Manage, guide & coach communication team members
- Track and steer Marketing Communications budgets of the markets
- Central contact for markets regarding PR and Marketing communication
- Other duties as applicable
BASIC:
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or a related discipline
- 10+ years of relevant Marketing professional experience with 5+ years experience in consumer marketing/communications
- 3+ years hands on experience in sponsorship, brand, social, and digital communication
- 3+ years leading employees in marketing / communication functions
- International or highly matrixed organizational experience
- Experience in a large corporate environment
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Continental is only able to offer visa support for internal candidates

Internal qualified candidates will meet internal guidelines for this executive level role:
- 3+ years experience of leading people and projects
- 18+ months working internationally, cross functionally and/or cross organizationally
- ACfEL must be complete before a promotion to SG 13
PREFERRED:
- Manufacturing / Auto / Tire industry related experience
- Prior Agency experience
- Masters Degree
- Bilingual skillset
- International work experience
- Strong Project Management experience
