About the Team

It’s an exciting time to join our growing Accounting team in Mexico with ample development opportunities. We're looking for a Senior Accounting Manager to strengthen our general ledger and accounting operations functions in Latin America (LATAM) while keeping pace within one of the fastest growing marketplace companies.

About the Role

You will report into the International Controller on our Accounting Team. We are hiring a Senior Accounting Manager to manage Latin American (primarily in Mexico and Brazil) regional accounting and regulatory compliance matters. This is an individual contributor position, with the opportunity for impact by creating efficient processes, solving problems with cross-functional collaborators, and demonstrating knowledge as a dedicated SME for Latin America accounting operations. Progressive experience in accounting operations, internal controls and financial systems is required, as well as the ability to interact with all levels of management and cross-functional teams. You will speak and write fluently in both English and Spanish to work across teams. In this role, you will report to the International Controller, based in the United States, and you will not have direct reports.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Manage daily accounting activities to ensure compliance with local regulations/GAAP, U.S. GAAP, internal policies, SOX controls, and external audits
  • Review day-to-day accounting operations, including General Ledger, bookkeeping, month-end and quarter-end closing
  • Oversight and being accountable for the accuracy and completeness financial results of the Accounting functions in LATAM (including Mexico and Brazil)
  • Work with external vendors and oversee the budget and manage the performance of external vendors
  • Review account reconciliations on a monthly basis and prepare monthly reporting packages
  • In charge of statutory audit of local financials as needed
  • Work with internal partners, including HR and FP&A, and external team members
  • Actively seek process improvements and being a driving force in accounting related projects, including payroll

  • You have 5+ years' of hands-on accounting experience, a CPA great to have!
  •  You are fluent in speaking and writing in both English and Spanish
  • You are self-motivated and self-managed - able to think independently, creatively, and opportunistically

  • You are data-obsessed and unafraid to go down to the lowest level of detail for truth
  • You have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
