Senior Management Accountant, Corporate Reporting - 6 month FTC

Why we're hiring:

WPP is on a global transformation journey and our Corporate Reporting team based on the Southbank, London is looking for a Management Accountant to facilitate the management and financial reporting of a variety of HQ entities as we transform and build for the future. This is a 6 month FTC position.

 

What you'll be doing:

You will report into the Corporate Reporting Manager and your role will include:

  • Monthly management accounts including month end commentary analysis against flash, budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations, investigation, and resolutions of any issues.
  • Accruing/prepaying of monthly costs, preparing and posting journals.
  • IFRS 16 month-end accounting.
  • Involvement in preparing budgets and forecasts.
  • Coordinating with the shared service centre regularly to support monthly accounting.
  • Assisting with recharging of HQ costs to Group companies.
  • Responsibility of end-to-end management reporting for smaller HQ entities.
  • Business partnering with other HQ departments e.g. FP&A, Real Estate, HR, Legal, Co Sec etc.
  • Operating within a robust SOX control environment and developing best practice.
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns.

 

What you'll need:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of the month end process, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Organised individual who can prioritise their workload and meets strict deadlines.
  • Someone who takes responsibility for their areas but can work as part of a wider team.
  • A change advocate who looks at current processes and workflows and makes recommendations for improving them.
