The Job
Omnidian is seeking an experienced Senior Machine Learning Operations (ML Ops) Engineer ready to take on the challenge of maturing our ML Ops infrastructure in the context of rapid growth.
As Omnidian’s first dedicated ML Ops professional, you will need to balance taking the lead in defining Omnidian’s ML Ops long-term vision with the hands-on work driving progress towards it.
At a strategic level, you will collaborate closely with our Product, Software, and Data Science teams to align on how Omnidian will ensure its model-driven services and products remain maintainable, reliable, and scalable. At a tactical level, you will ensure that the Data Science team deploys, monitors, and maintains model-driven services and data products using efficient, standardized, and fully governed processes.
This role is ideal for a Machine Learning Ops professional passionate about sustainability and eager to make a significant impact in a well-funded, growth-stage company.
What You'll Do
- System Design and Architecture
- Drive measurable gains in efficiency and automation across our workflows by working in cross-functional teams to integrate model services into Omnidian’s core technology.
- Ensure model services are cost-effective, reliable, and scalable by working with the Engineering and Data Science teams to design and implement efficient model service architectures.
- Model development, deployment, and maintenance
- Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines specifically for model deployment, ensuring a streamlined, consistent, and automated deployment process.
- Develop and enforce model validation, monitoring, and rollback strategies, including champion vs challenger frameworks, to ensure model integrity and operational impact.

Data Management and Preparation:
- Improve and maintain data pipelines that support the efficient deployment and retraining of models, leveraging distributed storage and compute resources.
- Manage and scale our feature repository and feature serving capabilities, focusing on the deployment of low-latency, production-grade features that enhance model performance.

Experience You'll Need
- Proven ability to translate domain business problems into machine learning solutions that deliver actionable insights and drive strategic decisions.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Strong software engineering pedigree with the ability to write production-ready code.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, C++, or other relevant programming languages.
- Experience in deploying machine learning models in production environments using tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, DataBricks)
- Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and best practices for maintaining model deployment systems.
- Solid understanding of the full ML lifecycle, particularly the challenges of deploying and maintaining models in production environments.
