At Zoox, our Platform Services team is crucial in powering the infrastructure behind our advanced autonomous vehicle technology. As a Senior Linux Engineer, you will ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of the application, compute, and storage platforms essential to our mission. Your role involves optimizing our Linux-based environments, which supports the seamless operation of our autonomous driving systems and contributes to safer, smarter, and more sustainable transportation solutions.

In this role, you will:
- Manage and operate Zoox's application, compute, and storage platforms.
- Perform deployment, configuration, and administrative tasks in Ubuntu Linux environments.
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code
- Utilize CI/CD tools to streamline deployment processes.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation, providing support for critical systems.
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in Ubuntu Linux systems administration, networking concepts (OSI model, TCP/IP, DMZ), and troubleshooting.
- Experience operating production environments in AWS or similar cloud platforms.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, and configuration management tools such as Salt, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Bamboo or Jenkins, with a flexible approach to learning new or adjacent technologies.
- Familiarity with real-time monitoring solutions and best practices.
Bonus Qualifications
- Secure infrastructure components using HashiCorp Vault or similar secrets management tools.
- Familiarity with GPU-backed VDI infrastructure is a plus.
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $236,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
