About the Legal team
The Legal team at Trustly is the guardian of Trustly’s regulatory licenses in Sweden, France and the UK, consisting of experts in regulations on payment services, privacy & data protection and commercial law. Currently a team of ten and growing, based in Stockholm, Paris and London.
About the role
As a Senior Legal Counsel - Regulatory, you are part of a dynamic legal team providing expertise to the product & tech and commercial teams in all things involving payment services regulation and commercial contracts. You are a professional in legal risk assessment, keeping presence of mind in complex and urgent situations, and giving knowledgeable recommendations to decision-makers across the whole organization. The position is based in Stockholm.
What you’ll do
- Safeguard the regulatory licenses of Trustly, including manage the relationships with the regulators with care and diligence
- Interpret payment services regulation, including translating this into meaningful and useful information for the product & tech team when it is designing innovative and human-centric payment products
- At times, support the commercial team in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
- Support the organization in solution-oriented handling of various legal issues
Who you are
- Holds a Master of Laws Degree
- 4-6 years of relevant experience from a payment services company, a commercial law firm, and/or supervisory authority is preferred (knowledge in PSD2 and future regulations on payment initiation services is a plus)
- Passionate about the payment industry
- Excellent English and Swedish language skills
- Driven and curious with a positive can-do attitude
- Terrific team player
