About this role in the team:
BVNK is at the forefront of next-generation payment solutions, and we’re seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our team. In this role, you'll drive business growth by providing strategic legal guidance and ensuring compliance in a fast-evolving fintech landscape. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable legal frameworks and ensure our innovative products meet regulatory requirements.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:

Support commercial activities across the U.S. and international markets, driving BVNK’s global expansion strategy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, compliance) to manage legal risks and support innovation in the financial services sector.
- Provide legal advice on new product launches and embedded propositions, ensuring alignment with global and regional regulations.
- Establish and implement efficient legal processes to streamline operations and ensure scalability.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts to balance business needs with regulatory obligations.

Maintain and improve internal legal resources such as templates and playbooks to enable consistent and effective legal decision-making.
- Act as a trusted advisor to BVNK’s leadership on legal and regulatory strategies, enabling successful partnerships and innovative payment solutions.
What we need from you:
- Minimum of 8+ years of legal experience, including 3+ years in-house, ideally within fintech, payments, or technology sectors.
- Strong expertise in commercial law, with experience negotiating and structuring strategic agreements.
- Proven ability to provide legal guidance for product development in highly regulated sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of global regulatory frameworks, especially those related to financial services and payments.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating excellent judgment and adaptability.

Exceptional project management skills, with the capacity to handle competing priorities under tight deadlines.
- A genuine passion for technology and strong business acumen, with the ability to quickly grasp complex product use cases.
- Expertise in translating legal concepts into practical, actionable guidance for product and business teams.
