Senior Legal Associate

This is a fantastic opportunity for a mid level experienced legal professional to join a rapidly scaling firm in the high growth information services sector. The Legal & Client Protection function is a critical part of the Dialectica knowledge sharing platform, responsible to ensure that our clients are able to access the world’s most valuable knowledge sources in a safe, confidential and compliant framework. 

We are seeking a skilled Senior Legal Associate  with a strong background in corporate law. As Senior Legal Associate  in Dialectica you will play a crucial role in handling a diverse range of corporate and business legal matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate and commercial law, preferably with at least 3-4 years of post-qualification experience gained as an in-house lawyer within an international company or reputable law firm. 

You will get involved with all aspects of Dialectica’s legal issues:  This is an international role based in Athens and you will be working on the legal activities of contract drafting and negotiation, privacy, and corporate governance. Dialectica’s entire corporate group.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and support to the company on corporate governance and contract management.
  • Provide legal support to various business departments on day-to-day operations.
  • Draft, review and support negotiations on client and procurement contracts.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to stay abreast of relevant legal developments and provide proactive advice to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities
  • Provide support and manage daily administrative operations of the legal department
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management and other departments, to provide legal advice with a thorough understanding of business priorities and financial concepts
  • Manage external legal advisors internationally in relation to a variety of legal matters

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law
  • 3-4  years post qualification experience in Greece or UK, preferably in an in house international role or a reputable law firm in the areas of corporate and business law
  • License to practice law, preferably in Greece or UK but other jurisdictions considered. 
  • Knowledge of Greek and/or UK corporate governance matters 
  • Previous experience with contract drafting and negotiation 
  • Experience with GDPR aspects will be considered a plus
  • Proactive, combining attention to detail with  a strategic approach to problem-solving and risk assessment
  • Confidence in interaction with other functions/clients and flexibility operating in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent organizational, project and time management skills and hands on approach 
  • Solution-oriented, intellectual flexibility to work through complex issues with multiple stakeholders independently and to propose workable solutions within tight deadlines
  • Great analytical skills, ability to identify legal issues and mitigate them and explain complex matters in clear, accessible language
  • Strong written, oral and presentation skills in English (a second language is a plus)
