We’re looking for a Lead QA Engineer to ensure product reliability by managing test plans, implementing automation frameworks, and enforcing quality standards. This role involves mentoring the QA team, improving processes, and identifying issues early. Strong QA expertise, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail are essential.
The Lead QA Engineer role is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance processes and strategies to ensure that products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing test plans, including automation frameworks, to streamline testing processes and ensure efficient, thorough coverage. The Lead QA Engineer collaborates closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to identify potential issues early in the development cycle, enforce quality guidelines, and establish best practices across the QA team. They lead and mentor QA team members, conduct performance evaluations, and actively seek opportunities to improve testing processes, with a strong emphasis on continuous technical learning. Excellent problem-solving skills, a strong attention to detail, and expertise in QA methodologies and tools are essential to succeed in this role.
Position Title: Lead QA Engineer
Location: Hybrid - Medellin
What you will be doing:
Provide hands-on leadership and guidance to the QA team, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement
Should be willing to participate in hands-on testing alongside other team members
Develop and implement QA policies, procedures, and best practices
Collaborate with other departments to establish quality standards for development processes
Design and execute comprehensive test plans based on project requirements
Develop and implement a robust testing strategy that includes both manual and automated testing approaches
Collaborate with development and product teams to ensure test coverage aligns with project goals
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA professionals
Drive the implementation of test automation processes and tools
Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements
Communicate QA status, issues, and risks to project stakeholders
Work closely with the development team to address and resolve defects in a timely manner
Requirements & Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
5+ years of QA Engineer experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
Extensive experience in Gray Box testing with strong technical knowledge of application functionality and architecture.
Strong hands-on experience validating Web and Mobile App application.
Ecommerce and Retail experience preferred.
Knowledge of effective management and leadership techniques with ability to put
techniques into practice.
Knowledge of effective customer-service techniques with ability to put techniques into practice for specific customer-service interactions
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and relational communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively, as needed
