Location:

Based in either Cardiff or London, with regular travel between these offices on an ongoing basis (with occasional travel to our Fleet office).

About the Role:

The People team’s main objective is to help our staff thrive. We aim to ensure each employee fulfils their personal and professional goals, while supporting RVU’s high performance culture and contributing to the ongoing success of the business. The People team is closely aligned with senior management across the wider business, and is expected to play an integral part in supporting the delivery of our objectives.

We’re looking for an energetic senior L&D professional to own the L&D strategy that is integral to our future success.  

The role will report to our Chief People Officer, whilst working closely with major stakeholders including the Heads of HR and management teams across all locations.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Design and deliver learning and development programs and initiatives that support RVU’s strategic objectives.
  • Partner with business leaders across multiple departments including Tech, Marketing and Analytics to identify skill gaps / development needs and design appropriate L&D provision.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external providers to ensure RVU has a ‘best in class’ L&D function 
  • Ensure that training aligns with internal career frameworks, our review system and wider talent initiatives (such as mentoring) to provide personalised development.
  • Ensure mandatory training across multiple areas such as compliance, infosec and HR is effectively delivered and monitored. 
  • Maintain appropriate systems for measurement of L&D programs effectiveness.

What we're looking for:

  • Extensive experience gained in-house with a digital / technology business
  • Clear understanding of learning needs in a performance driven culture
  • Experience of ‘owning’ an L&D strategy
  • You have a proven track record of working with leaders of technical teams including engineering, analytics, marketing, product etc to produce best in class training.
  • Exposure to devising training programs that allow technical training through subject matter experts - eg ‘train the trainer’.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to proactively solve challenges
  • Improvement ethos by using KPIs / OKRs to measure the effectiveness of learning programs and initiatives
