Senior IT Systems Engineer

MAXISIQ is seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer who will be responsible for the implementation and support of virtualized platforms used within infrastructures for the various MAXISIQ customers. This role encompasses: Implementing, documenting, and supporting IT systems management and associated technologies including operating systems, storage, virtualization, network and security technologies both on premise and in the cloud supporting over several server instances in highly virtualized environments.  Actively interviewing for this full-time role in the Northern VA area that comes available in June.

Security Clearance: Must have active TS/SCI with current Full Scope Poly

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience. 

Mandatory Experience

• Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and managing Linux servers
• Experience with Centos 7+, Ubuntu 16+, including installation, configuration, and system management
• Experience with Windows server 2019+ and roles, including installation, configuration and system management
• Familiarity with configuring networking routers, switches and firewalls
• Familiarity with Solar Winds in virtualized environments to include patch and configuration management, monitoring, and data retention systems
• Experience with virtualization platforms to include VMWare
• Experience deploying Linux, and Windows based desktop environments
• 5 years of related systems administration experience.

Mandatory Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience. 
• Familiarity with SOA

Optional Skills

• VMWare VCP, CISSP and/or other relevant certifications, a plus
