Reporting to the Manager, IT Applications The Sr IT Applications Specialist will manage, maintain and optimize the current IO application ecosystem. Working with integrated teams consisting of business partners, vendors and other IT stakeholders to address issues, implement solutions that support efficient application operations at IO and deliver analysis, reporting and operational dashboards for IT and business leaders

What You Will Do:

  • Application Lifecycle Management: Managing and optimizing the current application ecosystem

  •        Oversees the operations and governance of all IO applications and ensures all applications (SaaS, COTS as well as custom developed) are operating effectively in alignment with organizational needs
  •        Ensures successful implementation of existing system enhancements, upgrades, updates, patches, and fixes to ensure optimal system performance, data integrity, and reliability. EG, Kahua
  •        Resolve issues and escalations related to systems.
  •        Collaborate with vendors/partners to deliver solutions as needed.
  •        Identify project risks and dependencies as it relates to the implementation of new system enhancements
  •        Ensures effective security, backups and disaster recovery plans are implemented and regularly tested and validated to ensure all application remain current and resilient to cyber-attacks or business disruption.

  • Solution Development

  •        Develop and continually improve effective and trusted relationships with IT and business teams, supporting strategic objectives by analyzing requirements and presenting well-researched solution options.
  •        Lead projects, acting as a technical conduit between stakeholders and development teams, delivering products and projects that require experience with modern technology stack and frameworks.
  •        Build consensus amongst teams to validate that the technical solution being delivered meets both business and user needs, and support implementations.

  • Vendor Management

  •        Collaborate with teams and vendors to implement changes, updates, and troubleshoot issues to find solutions.
  •        Manage external vendor and related contracts ensuring value for money for IO.
  •        Develop and oversee adherence to service level agreements and service support models.
  •        Manage and measure vendor performance and service level agreements.
  •        Perform audits to validate KPI and SLA reports. Lead determination of corrective action as required.
  •        Operationalize vendor agreements, defining and implementing a governance structure and processes.
  •        Manage and resolve escalations from the business and vendor.

  • Analysis and Reporting

  •        Deliver reporting (e.g. dashboards) to business leaders on SLAs for the systems that support their business
  •        Design and implement application health dashboards, break fix metrics, trending reporting.
  •        Provide analysis on vendor performance management, application modernization options and value for money assessments.
  •        Identify and manage risks, mitigation and resolution within IO IT organization, IO business functional areas, external managed service providers and other third-party vendors.

  • Project Implementation

  •        Works with Business Analysis team in identifying emerging technology trends, especially in Application Management, and ensures the company is leveraging them when appropriate to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and drive value.
  •        Evaluates installed software solutions and identifies areas to improve standards, simplify, enhance functionality and/or transition to solutions to improve supportability.
  •        Implements multiple high priority projects which support the transformation of the application ecosystem.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Several years experience in application and vendor management
  • Solid understanding of Kahua and construction project management software implementation
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word, Outlook, Teams 
  • Excellent communication, analytical, presentation, and relationship building skills.
  • Experience developing dashboards and reports for client and different leadership levels.
  • Strong influencing and conflict resolution skills to resolve issues with internal and external stakeholders.

The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $142,500 with a corresponding job level of P5
