Business Insider is hiring a Senior Insights Manager to join our Subscriptions team to contribute to the evolution of our Subs Intelligence & Analytics team.

The Role & Team:

As a Senior Insights Manager, you will be critical to the future success of our subscription business. You have the opportunity to positively impact data culture at the start of an exciting new strategic direction. 

You will develop a data-driven mastery of Business Insider’s subscription business, spotting patterns, proactively uncovering opportunities, and helping us develop a common understanding of how readers and subscribers experience our product. You will utilize our data to develop reporting tools, design measurement plans, set ambitious goals, and explore areas of strategic opportunity. You will champion the direction and quality of our Subs Intelligence & Analytics team. You will partner directly with our Finance team to set subscriptions budgeting and distill trends into a clear, actionable narrative for leadership. 

This role reports directly to the Head of Subscriptions Intelligence & Analytics and sits on the subscriptions team. This position is based in our New York City HQ with an in-office presence of at least 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead product and business insights for the Subscriptions Business team to define strategy and prioritize roadmaps.
  • Influence decision makers in cross-functional teams by defining key metrics of success, building data-driven narrative on growth opportunities, and sizing outcomes.
  • Partner closely with Product, Marketing, Tech, and other teams to unpack the narrative of the business. Own deep-dive analysis of post-launch impact and recommendations to further optimize the user experience. 
  • Develop and refine our data foundations by translating business needs from cross functional partners into data requirements.
  • Provide mentorship and develop best practices for the broader Subs Intelligence Team

The Ideal Candidate Has:

  • Previous experience in a hands-on analytical role, management consulting, business intelligence, finance, and other similar roles
  • Deep experience in effective data visualization and reporting
  • Experience independently leading data analytics projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and communicate clearly across all levels of stakeholders (business, technical, and executives)
  • Familiarity with using and driving self-service adoption of data visualization tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau)
  • Proficiency in SQL, understanding of data modeling concepts, and experience working with relational databases
  • Familiarity with Google BigQuery, AWS, or other big data environments  

Salary & Benefits: 

  • Base salary: $145,000 - $165,000 (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)
