The Purpose:
You will be joining the Developer Enablement domain responsible for enabling all cross-functional development teams to have a robust, scalable, reliable, cost-effective and highly secure infrastructure for their respective applications. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure framework, thus providing a paved path for all development teams.
What you will be doing:
Cloud Architecture Design and Implementation:
○ Develop and implement scalable infrastructure solutions that meet the needs of PPRO’s growing business.
○ Ensure high availability, performance, and security of our systems.
○ Automate infrastructure provisioning and management processes using tools such as Terraform/Terragrunt or equivalent.
○ Continuously optimize infrastructure for cost-efficiency and performance.
○ Implement Kubernetes best practices for cluster setup, management, and monitoring.
○ Create and maintain Helm charts/other package managers, for deploying applications on Kubernetes.
Monitoring and Maintenance:
○ Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting framework (Datadog) to ensure proactive identification and resolution of issues.
○ Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure system stability and security.
Delivery & Integration:
○ Design and configure CI/CD pipelines(GitHub actions) to automate the process of building, testing, and deploying code changes.
○ Maintain a cost-efficient artifacts repository for binary publishing
○ Invest in automation for a change management process that balances agility & continuous delivery with regulatory requirements.
Connectivity:
○ Focus on building a secure and auditable networking backbone for PPRO
○ Solutions include egress/ingress filtering for production traffic, reusable site-to-site VPN solutions to connect to vendors securely, and PPRO’s corporate VPN product.
Collaboration and acting as development domain partners:
○ Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to align infrastructure initiatives with business goals.
○ Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Compliance and Documentation:
○ Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations like PCI, DORA, etc.
○ Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
You will need to have:
- Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role, with a focus on cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud).
- Strong background in infrastructure as code, automation, and orchestration tools.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration.
- Proven experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in networking and firewall concepts, security best practices, and monitoring tools.
- Experience optimizing CI/CD pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency
Nice-to-haves:
- Understanding of secure CI/CD practices, such as secret management, dependency scanning, and integrating security tests into the pipeline.
- Advanced knowledge of GitHub Actions for CI/CD, including creating complex workflows, using reusable workflows, and integrating third-party actions.
- Experience with backup and restore processes for both infrastructure and data.
- Designing and implementing disaster recovery (DR) strategies and business continuity plans to ensure system resilience and data integrity.
- Experience with configuring infrastructure in CDE scope for PCI compliance
