Are you a backend engineer with a fondness for production? An SRE who also likes to design and code? Observable is seeking a full-time infrastructure engineer to help design, build, and manage Observable’s cloud systems as we accelerate and grow. Our team is fully remote and we strive to foster a culture that is collaborative and data-driven while being fast-paced.

What you will do
- Design and implement new infrastructure and processes to support Observable’s growing cloud services and features.
- Perform site reliability and infrastructure maintenance work for existing Observable production and staging environments. (Manage servers! Tweak WAF rules! Optimize SQL queries! And more!)
- Participate in the dev team’s oncall rotation, monitoring Observable systems and responding to production issues.

- 8+ years of related experience working with production systems, cloud providers, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), security best practices, etc
- Excitement! We are a startup recently embarked on a new product direction (see the announcement for Observable 2.0). We’re building cool things and we want your help :)
- Ability to design, implement, and operate the infrastructure that powers the Observable platform with autonomy.
