The Senior Information Technologist will lead and oversee the administration and application support for all Information Technology requirements within Windows environments. This role involves managing a diverse range of IT systems and services to ensure seamless operation and support for mission-critical functions. The Senior Information Technologist will work closely with various stakeholders to provide technical expertise, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure compliance with IT policies and security protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced system administration and technical support for approximately 200 users utilizing desktops, laptops, tablets, and other devices across multiple networks, including NIPRNet and SIPRNet.
- Troubleshoot and resolve client-based problems related to Windows, Microsoft Office Products, and other ANG Unique Software.
- Install, configure, and maintain specialized software packages while ensuring software licensing compliance.
- Manage wireless networks, uninterrupted power supplies, and Internet Information Services, ensuring operational security and efficiency.
- Conduct regular maintenance and updates on deployable equipment and ensure readiness for immediate operation.
- Test new software applications, providing feedback and recommendations for national implementation.
- Manage Active Directory objects, including users, computers, and groups, ensuring proper configuration and security measures are in place.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, documenting and tracking issues through the Network Control Center as needed.
- Collaborate with users to enhance their understanding of approved applications and IT processes.
- Conduct system analysis post-upgrade to identify impacts on operational status and ensure timely resolution of any issues.
- Maintain compliance with Federal Records Standards and manage the security of sensitive information.
- Lead projects, manage documentation, and train users on system operations and procedures.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT system administration, preferably within a defense or military context.
- Must possess Information Assurance Technical Level II and Security+ certification, in compliance with DoD standards.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Client and Server Software, MS Office Suite, and financial systems administration.
- Familiarity with network protocols including DNS, TCP/IP, and FTP.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain security protocols for classified and sensitive information.
