Having cutting edge technology is only half the battle when trying to bring law enforcement to the 21st century: our operations team tackles every problem our computers can’t.  As a Senior Human Resources Business Partner, you will collaborate with and provide strong HR guidance to senior leadership and managers on strategic people initiatives. Our Senior HRBP will contribute toward the development, delivery, and measurement of impactful talent & organizational transformation strategies. Most of all, our operations team keeps a positive attitude under pressure and always drives to get the job done. 

What you can expect to work on  

  • Build strong relationships with senior business leaders and cross-functional teams to offer strategic and tactical direction on a wide range of talent related issues 
  • Develop recommendations on how leaders can drive adoption and engagement of key talent management programs by leveraging qualitative and quantitative data insights 
  • Leverage data and insights to facilitate meaningful talent management discussions with people leaders at all levels of the organization 
  • Comfortable with navigating ambiguity with autonomy, and taking ownership in determining the next step forward with sound judgment in alignment with organizational philosophy 
  • Identify and handle employee issues quickly and sensitively, exercising good judgment and discretion 
  • Coach managers on performance management, feedback, employee development and career pathing 
  • Be a resource for individual contributors across partner teams, successfully influencing others by providing direction, knowledge, and support to create a high-performing organization 
  • Develop strong trusted relationships and credibility across all levels of business line management 
  • Partner with the People Ops team to optimize and advise on performance management, hiring, organizational design, compensation and internal processes 
  • Be involved in the design and execution strategies for how we staff, onboard, develop, motivate, retain, and organize work 
  • Synthesize insights and observations from across the organization to identify improvement areas in HR processes and propose solutions for addressing them 
  • Involvement in culture initiatives (ie. social outings, volunteering events, developing policies that directly impact our culture.) 
  • Advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion across the organization and in all practices of HR 
  • Participating in weekly People Operations meetings and taking on new projects with different team members 
  • Becoming a trusted resource for employees (across all locations) to come to with operations or facilities related questions or concerns 
  • Working diligently to create a first class work environment and employee experience
  • Working towards a worthwhile mission with a team of friendly and intelligent coworkers
  • Demonstrate flexibility and agility in undertaking ad hoc projects as assigned 

What we expect from you 

  • 3-5 years prior experience on a People Operations or HR team in a growing organization 
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred 
  • Experience with executing high volume employee lifecycle transactions independently and with sound judgment 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, strong business acumen, and the ability to effectively simplify complex concepts to various audiences 
  • HR Business Partner experience in navigating the complex needs of dynamic teams, and working with multiple stakeholders 
  • Proficient in translating business priorities into practical human resources strategies that can be implemented to help the business achieve its priorities 
  • Proven ability to build relationships across the organization and drive collaboration  
  • A proven bias towards action - resourceful, execution oriented, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment, all while handling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously 
  • Familiarity with fundamental HR policies and an interest in growing your HR skill set 
  • Capacity for strategic and operational thinking: you can focus on the big picture while never missing the small stuff 
  • Proactively communicating needs with our People Ops department and business management 
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, and the ability to negotiate critical situations appropriately, with poise, under difficult circumstances 
  • Taking initiative to complete your tasks, and speaking up when faced with roadblocks 
  • Enthusiasm for conducting quality research that allows you to plan for and accomplish tasks and projects effectively 
  • Comfortability using Google Suite & Microsoft Office, as well as other productivity software such as Jira and Confluence 
  • Willingness to empathize with others who may be unlike yourself 
  • Coming to work with an open mind and leaving your ego at the door 
  • A passion for helping people, improving processes, and being an everyday hero

During the initial 3 month onboarding phase, successful candidates will be required to attend the office 3 to 4 days per week. Following this period, regular in-office attendance of 2 to 3 days per week will be expected. 

We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, target base annual salary range of $90,000 - $105,000 plus bonus opportunity, company stock options, and a full benefits package, including health insurance, and paid time off. Please note that the higher end of this range will be reserved for candidates with appropriate experience who reside in high cost labor markets.
