Mission Summary

In this role, you will partner with Management, the HRBP team and HR Centers of Excellence to formulate human capital strategies, coach managers and leaders, deliver against HR programs, manage employee relations matters, manage policies and drive talent management initiatives. This role is based in Las Vegas, which is a hub for Motional’s operational activity. In this role, you will directly support Motional’s Operations & Safety organization, with the possibility of supporting select SG&A functions. This role will also be responsible for day-to-day HR onsite support for the Las Vegas office. This role will report to the Global HRBP for Operations and SG&A.

The Motional Las Vegas office is located less than 10 miles from the Las Vegas strip at 730 E Pilot Road. The city’s grid system of roads and being one of America’s “smart cities” allows for extensive research and development testing.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support operations teams and leadership through all HR programs such as performance reviews, merit and promotion planning, and employee surveys.
  • You’ll add value by building trusting relationships with leaders, managers, and employees.
  • Act as a steward of Motional’s culture and core values. 
  • You’ll consult with leaders on policy, organizational design, compliance, and change management.
  • Guide people managers on best practices for performance management. 
  • You’ll manage and resolve employee relations issues and conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Collaborate with the HRBP team to roll out cross-functional initiatives such as career pathing.
  • Act as a proactive advisor, coach and sounding board for leadership. 
  • Partner with the business to understand attrition, improve engagement, and ultimately retain and develop talent. 
  • You’ll lead efforts around assessment of talent, potential, and succession planning.
  • Contribute to the full employee lifecycle, working with HR team members and centers of excellence to meet employee needs.
  • Partner with the talent acquisition team on Internal offers, workforce planning, onboarding and offboarding, and interviewing for senior roles. 
  • Provide great customer service with day-to-day requests and questions.
  • Conduct compensation evaluations working with the compensation team.
  • Contribute to employee communications (both through design and providing input).

What We're Looking For:

  • You are adaptable, strategic and an excellent communicator, both verbally and written. 
  • You add value by coaching managers and leaders. 
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in HR positions having responsibility for:
    • Business partnership
    • Supporting a non-exempt and a contingent workforce
    • HR Programs
    • Employee relations and investigations
    • Policy administration
    • Compensation, Benefits, and Employment Law acumen
  • Experience working in a business environment with multi-state and global locations. 
  • You have a track record of building strong relationships and working collaboratively with others.
  • You influence and drive results cross-functionally.
  • You have strong knowledge of employment law and implications.

Bonus Points (not required):

  • Experience working within a global, matrixed organization is a plus.
  • Experience with emerging technology 
  • Knowledge of local compliance and employment laws

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors including but not limited to specific skills, experience and expertise, role location, certifications, licenses, and business needs. Salary Range
$94,900$142,000 USD
