Senior HR Business Partner

About the Role

The Senior People Business Partner role within Media.Monks Amsterdam operates within the NL People Team. In this hands-on role, you are responsible for collaborating with management and other key stakeholders to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organisation's goals and objectives.

You will serve as a consultant to management on HR-related issues such as employee engagement, performance management, compensation, and benefits, and provide expert guidance and support to managers and employees. You will also work to foster a positive and productive work environment, ensuring that the company's culture and values are maintained.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the key People Business Partner supporting the team in Amsterdam.
  • Report into the People Director NL
  • Provide counsel and guidance on complex employee matters
  • Act as an executive coach for leaders; hold a high bar for management values and behaviors
  • Provide support for a variety of special initiatives at the direction of HR Leadership. The nature and scope of the initiatives will vary considerably depending on organizational needs 
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure employee and business needs are met, focusing on organizational design, change leadership, and talent management
  • Recommend, develop, and implement new HR processes as required to grow the business
  • Influence business and talent initiatives that support our short and long-term business goals, including driving practices that enable high performance and operational excellence
  • Influence and/or deploy practices to increase employee engagement and satisfaction

Organisation Effectiveness 

  • Establish ways of working to do more with less, nimble execution, and high collaboration. Ensure both strategy and execution of tactics are addressed in all aspects of HR.
  • Take the lead in ensuring that a comprehensive set of operational policies are in place, staff have been trained and compliance is verified. Facilitate the review and development of existing policies and procedures to reflect the needs of a growing and dynamic organisation. 
  • Identify and implement improvement to the team’s processes. Strengthen the delivery and execution of our HR programs, operations and services that enhance our employee experience. 
  • Oversee compliance with all employment laws and partner with People Business Partners to communicate findings to leadership

 

About You

The essentials:

  • Ability to prioritise workload and self-manage projects; demonstrates initiative and manages multiple, competing priorities
  • HR experience in a high growth and fast pace company
  • Experience designing and deploying HR processes
  • Experience with core HR domains, including employee relations, performance management, organizational design and compensation
  • Experience influencing and advising management on talent and employment matters
  • Experience with people data analytics; ability to influence with data
  • Hands on, approachable and Business Partner who inspires and motivates
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment 
  • Adept problem solver with a high level of initiative and sense of personal accountability.
  • Committed to highest ethical standards, data integrity, established process, documentation, and to continuous learning.
  • Proven organisational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to prioritise

Qualifications:

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in an HR function or equivalent degree and experience.
  • Demonstrated success as an Business Partner supporting 175+ employees 
  • International HR experience is a plus
  • Familiar with Dutch Labour Law
  • Fluency in English a must
  • Experience with Workday
