About the role

Join our Health and Safety team in our Brighton Branch covering our Brighton and Eastbourne sites. As a Senior Health & Safety Advisor, you'll lead initiatives, ensure compliance with legislation and create a safe working environment.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Health and Safety strategy.
  • Manage the H&S administrator and coordinate stakeholders with a people-centric approach, emphasizing Performance and Culture.
  • Lead the Health and Safety Forum focusing on engagement and department collaboration.
  • Conduct risk assessments, implement controls and improvements and establish safe work systems.
  • Investigate incidents, identifying causes and providing actionable advice
  • Stay updated on legislation and industry standards.
  • Complete regular site inspections/audits to ensure policy adherence and safe practices and retain records of these.
  • Lead in-house training and provide guidance on health and safety for managers and employees.
  • Create and provide reports on areas for continual improvement.
  • Provide advice on specialist areas such as fire regulations, first aid, hazardous substances, machinery and more.
  • Outline safe operational procedures, considering business hazards, and guidance on safe use and installation of machinery/equipment .

What are we looking for?

  • Assertive people-centric communication, with a pro-active approach to projects, and building relationships across the business.
  • Qualified to NEBOSH Certificate, ideally with experience in manufacturing, logistics or similar industries
