Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Senior Design Validation Test Engineer to join the Hardware Validation Test Team, with a result-oriented, self-motivated product and test expert and debugging solid skills.

This senior individual will work collaboratively with the cross-functional product design team to validate industry-leading hardware platforms. As the Design Validation Test Engineer, you will work with the Component Engineering Team, Software Platform Engineering Team, Diagnostic Engineering Team, and Manufacturing Test Engineering Team. In addition, you would have extensive experience in EVDT, NEBS, Optics Qualification, and Component Qualification.   

Your Impact

  • Create and implement an EDVT test plan for all NGFW/SDWAN products
  • Will work with optics vendors and perform optics qualification and rebranding efforts for all QSFP-DD, SFP-DD, QSFP28, SFP28
  • Self-starter, team player, representing hardware engineering to provide technical advice in hardware validation
  • Execute, Qualify and Approve second source components
  • Be able to perform physical signal measurements, power measurements, and thermal measurements, and understand the hardware architecture
  • Guide and support all cross-functional teams from QA to Tech Support
  • Own and maintain the component qualification process at the contract manufacturing facility
  • Develop, and Continuing enhance validation methodology in both design and manufacturing

Your Experience

  • Experience in product sustaining efforts, which include PCBA respin bring up
  • Familiar with clock circuits, power circuits, power sequencing, CPLD, I2C, SPI, and PCIe buses
  • Understand GR63 and GR1089
  • Expert in using the external traffic generator Ixia, or Spirent, and creating internal PRBS traffic using the controller application
  • Strong debugging skills
  • Experience in Linux and Python scriptings
  • Hands-on rework experience is a plus

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be between $137,400/yr to $212,000/yr.
