Our Research and Advanced Development Division is looking a senior technologist to lead our hardware team in transforming our latest innovations into functional prototypes, and to support our product teams as they take these designs to market.
As a Senior Technologist you will be leading our hardware team in developing novel solutions to complex problems.
You will have demonstrated leadership ability executing complex programs and understanding project management.
Duties Include:
- Leading our hardware team
- Collaborate closely with the rest of the R&D department to identify new opportunities for future products and evaluate faults or inefficiencies in existing product offerings or software solutions.
- Generating hardware requirements and specifications for complex storage projects.
- Developing new hardware IP, to demonstrate novel solutions to identified challenges.
- Implementing solutions as complete FPGA to provide working demonstration platforms.
- Writing verification tests (using UVM) to confirm successful implementation of said solutions.
- Interacting with 3rd party vendors to deploy commercial IP as part of ASIC prototyping.
- Debugging and testing of prototype firmware CPU at the system level – boot, jtag, initialization sequences
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers as needed.

- Exhibit strong attention to detail, particularly when developing IP for future ASIC’s
- Have strong communication skills, which are essential for working in collaborative teams or resolving technical uncertainties one faces when working with novel technologies.
- Strong analytical skills
Education and Experience Requirements
The ideal candidate would possess either:
- A Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or similar fields OR
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or similar as well as at least 7 years experience in electronics systems design (either digital hardware design or embedded computing).
Required Technical Skills and Experience
- Proven leadership ability
- Demonstrated ability in finding solutions to complex problems
- SOC and IP design and verification experience:
- RTL design of high-performance, timing-critical modules using SystemVerilog
- Design Verification using Universal Verification Methodology (UVM)
- Firmware design skills a strong plus.
- This includes familiarity with Embedded Linux distributions or OpenSource RTOS’s such as Zyphyr or FreeRTOS
- Preference given to candidates with previous hands-on experience either in FPGA design or ASIC engineering projects.
- Candidate must be very comfortable using EDA tools in a Linux/UNIX environment
