The Finance team at Marley Spoon is always looking to bring in exceptional talent to provide business partnership and best-in-class analysis and reporting.  Our aim is to help the company make the right, fact-based decisions with data integrity to move the business forward.  As part of this effort, we are now looking for a strong and experienced Senior Group Accountant.

What you will do: 

  • Manage and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial consolidation process to ensure timely and accurate reporting, working in partnership with the local/central finance teams.
  • Help prepare, analyze and release the interim and audited quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS standards.
  • Support the external quarterly results reporting process, including owning the financial accuracy of all published documents and data validation.
  • Carry out analysis of financial results as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting periods of the subsidiaries and the Group Company.
  • Provide accounting guidance to all our subsidiaries with regards to IFRS and ensure the entities are providing accurate and quality reporting.
  • Draft accounting memos in support of the accounting guidance as required as part of the audit process. 
  • Oversee the internal control processes and document our key processes to ensure robust processes are in place that follow best practice. 
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax advisers, facilitating reviews and audits and ensuring timely and accurate completion of requests. 
  • Deliver the necessary Group reporting and support in local GAAP statutory filings in Europe (German, Dutch, Lux and UK GAAP).
  • Assist in the development and documentation of the Company’s (tax) transfer pricing strategies in accordance with tax frameworks and the requirements of corporate management.
  • Liaise with the ERP team to improve the efficiency of our reporting environment in Navision.
  • Own the reporting from our reporting tool, Lucanet and provide support to team members.
  • Oversee relationships with banking partners and manage administrative aspects of the Company’s bank accounts and treasury management system.

Requirements

  • At least five years of professional experience in the field of reporting, auditing and  group accounting preferably in a fast-growing “scale up” environment.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory consolidation and accounting under IFRS.
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting required, professional accounting accreditation highly desirable (CPA, ACCA, Wirtschaftsprüfer(in)/Steuerberater(in), or equivalent).
  • Ability to thrive autonomously in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where change is constant.
  • Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to deliver clear and concise guidance and instructions to subsidiaries.
  • Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail while being able to take a step back and understand the bigger picture.
  • Ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization, including individuals outside of the finance function, across multiple time zones.
  • Experience with a Global ERP system, in particular, Navision desirable as well as Lucanet Consolidation Tool.
  • Experience in transfer pricing arrangements and documentation preferred.
  • Experience in consumer products/manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Fluent in English required, German language skills a plus.
