ispace Technologies, US. is a looking for a highly motivated and talented Senior Guidance, Navigation and Controls Engineer to join its new team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and develop GNC architecture and requirements
- Perform trajectory design, optimization, and dispersion analysis for all phases in the US Lunar Lander mission profile, including on-orbit maneuvers and lunar surface descent and landing
- Develop software tools to support mission design, analysis, verification, and performance reporting during test and flight
- Participate in all mission phases including trade studies, design reviews, software and hardware-level test, and on-orbit operations
- Implement new software or algorithms to support mission unique capabilities
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with focus on systems and control. We will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
- 10+ years of experience in spacecraft control design (time, and frequency domain) and analysis
- Experience with navigation algorithms, and filters (EKF)
- Experience with guidance algorithms (e.g. PEG)
- Experience with spacecraft attitude dynamics (rigid, slosh, and flex), and orbital dynamics
- Experience with sensor/actuator modelling
- Proficiency in C++, and Matlab/Simulink
- Experience of 6DOF simulation
- Experience with GNC sensors and actuators (preferred: thrusters)
- Familiarity with vehicle-GNC design processes, from concept, through design reviews and implementation
- Experience with Mote Carlo Simulation and data analysis
- Experience in agile development environment and git version control
- Mentor junior GNC engineer
Preferred Experience:
- Master's degree or PhD in an engineering discipline with focus on systems and control
- Demonstrated professional experience in launch vehicle and/or spacecraft GNC systems
- Ability to solve complex problems in a fast-paced collaborative interdisciplinary team environment
- Experience with system modelling tools like STK
- Experience with nonlinear control techniques
- Experience with Lunar or Interplanetary missions
- Experience with fault detection and isolation
- Experience with documentation (e.g. ICD, DFMEA, Detailed Design Documentation, test plan)
- Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
- Self-motivated learner
- Experience working for Aerospace/Space Prime or sub-contractor strongly preferred
- Experience in startup environment a plus
Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced design and development environment
- Schedule may vary depending on program development needs; flexibility required
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive salary based upon experience - $160,000 - $180,000. The salary posted is a targeted range for budget of position. Base compensation can be negotiated and will be commensurate with experience, skills, education, and training.
