This is an exciting opportunity to join Xodus’ high-calibre Geospatial Team and play a pivotal role in developing and leading our GIS offering in Asia-Pacific. We are looking for an experienced, motivated, energised and creative individual with a passion for devising and applying a approach to solve industry challenges. The ideal candidate will not only possess high-end technical GIS skills and knowledge, but embody the mindset necessary to succeed, with a strong focus on innovation, collaboration, commercial awareness, industry knowledge and relationship-building.

We have an extremely diverse and ever-growing portfolio of exciting projects in the marine energy sector, and our GIS consultants work across the full breadth of the business, supporting projects in Offshore Wind, Marine Renewables, Cables & Interconnectors, Oil & Gas, Hydrogen and Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS). At this critical moment in the Energy Transition, the role of the Geospatial Team has become increasingly prominent as an engine for innovation and integration. We use the latest geospatial technology to unite our diverse expertise, outlaw labour intensive, repetitious work, deliver engaging, insightful analytical outputs and create beautiful maps and applications.

Requirements

  • Oversee day to day coordination and line management of the growing APAC Geospatial Team (2-3 people initially).
  • Establish and maintain relationships with wider APAC business and external client-base, identifying opportunities for geospatial value-add.
  • Drive commercial performance of team, lead business development activities and generate opportunities.
  • Deliver cutting-edge GIS analyses and mapping outputs, reports.
  • Contribute and coordinate common data environment and company-wide WebGIS resources.
  • Prepare and issue written deliverables & proposals.
  • Take responsibility for strategic direction of APAC geospatial team in collaboration with Global Geospatial Hub.

Skills and Attributes

  • Enthusiasm for developing, promoting & delivering geospatial services within a professional organisation.
  • Ability to problem solve with exceptional research, analysis and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with team members, peers, supervisors and clients.
  • Extensive GIS skillset, encompassing including data management, geodesy, spatial analysis, WebGIS (ESRI-suite) and cartography.
  • Excellent data handling, manipulation and analysis skills, ideally with intermediate Python knowledge covering ArcPy/PyQGIS, Geopandas/Shapely/GDAL).

  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 8+ years’ experience in GIS field.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in GIS, Geography or related fields.
  • Certifications in GIS and work experience will be considered in lieu of higher degree.
  • Experience leading teams, mentoring and managing projects.
  • Knowledge of / experience in offshore environment and energy sector at APAC regional and global level would be highly beneficial.
  • Relevant experience in a consultancy role is desirable.
  • Additional relevant domain expertise (e.g. marine science or engineering).
