PTW is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Game Sound Designer to join our team on a project-based (PJ) contract. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sound design for video games, with a proven track record of creating immersive audio experiences. This role requires a creative individual who can collaborate effectively with other team members to enhance the overall gaming experience through sound.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sound Design: Create, implement, and optimize high-quality sound effects, ambient sounds, and audio assets that enhance the gaming experience.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with game designers, artists, and programmers to ensure audio elements are seamlessly integrated into the game.
  • Recording and Editing: Record, edit, and process dialogue, sound effects, and ambient sounds using industry-standard tools.
  • Implementation: Use audio middleware and game engines to implement and fine-tune audio assets within the game.
  • Innovation: Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in game audio to continually improve the quality and efficiency of sound production.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and organized documentation of audio processes and workflows.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in sound design for video games.
  • Software Proficiency with:
    • Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs): Pro Tools, Reaper, or similar.
    • Audio Middleware: Wwise, FMOD.
    • Game Engines: Unreal Engine, Unity.
    • Audio Editing Tools: iZotope RX, Waves plugins.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of audio signal processing, mixing, and mastering.
  • Artistic Skills: Excellent ear for detail, with a strong sense of timing, rhythm, and spatial audio.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical challenges related to audio implementation.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sound Design, Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing a range of high-quality sound design work in video games.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and feedback.
