Senior Game Designer for Disney Dreamlight Valley (PC/Console)

We are seeking a high profile Senior Game Designer to join our team and help deliver exiting and high-quality updates for the Disney Dreamlight Valley. As a key member of the development team, you will take ownership of game design and be the primary point of contact for gameplay, mechanics, and activities.

A thorough understanding of creative world-building within an established IP and the ability to craft engaging gameplay are essential to creating the unique player experience cherished by DDV fans. Experience designing for PC/console markets and gamepad controls is a prerequisite for successfully realizing your vision for players.

This role is part of a Ukrainian-speaking team based at Gameloft Kharkiv Studio, and it will be fully remote for the duration of the ongoing war.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and iterate on a collaborative vision for life-sim gameplay and content with the creative and design leaders of the team;
  • Under the responsibility of the Creative Director, oversee design aspects related to iconic and engaging interactions with the world and characters from various Disney IPs;
  • Proactively propose and pitch new features and content packs for the game. Follow up with prototyping and development once approved by the Game Manager and Licensor;
  • Act as a feature owner, inspiring and supporting art, design, UI/UX, economy and tech teams to deliver features that achieve their goals and contribute positively to the overall quality of the game;
  • Create and maintain clear and comprehensive design documentation;
  • Implement and debug game content via game engine tools, asset editors, localization, and balancing sheets;
  • Contribute to talent development, and participate in internal mentorship initiatives to support the growth of your design team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience delivering successful PC/console games as a Game Designer;
  • Exercise autonomy in making high-level decisions that will impact all lower levels;
  • Proficiency in gameplay and player experience design;
  • In-depth understanding of general game design and development processes;
  • Strong pitching and presentation skills;
  • Full working proficieny with a Ukrainian-speaking team;
  • Fluency in English.

Would be considered a plus:

  • Proficiency with Unity game editor and prototyping tools;
  • Experience creating licensed enternaining media for established IPs;
  • Scriptwriting or video directing working background.
