UpTrending is looking for a Senior Full-Stack PHP Web Developer to grow with our team. Our design and engineering team is an upbeat crew of skilled digital craftspeople, located all around the world. You will be an essential team member, providing the technical heavy-lifting needed to transform client goals into effective web experiences.

What You’ll Do
As a Developer at UpTrending, you’ll be working as part of a passionate team to supercharge the business of intelligent technology brands and translate their message into polished elegance in any medium.
Reporting to our Director of Technology, you’ll work with our Project Managers to act as the lead Full-Stack PHP developer, software architect and DevOps across several client accounts while mentoring others in our dev team along the way.
You will also be expected to maintain well organized projects, clearly document technical processes, research emerging technologies and educate other developers in this knowledge.
Requirements
8+ years of professional experience with Web Development, including Javascript
5+ years of experience developing with PHP, Wordpress and OOP
Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)
Expertise in 2+ PHP applications or frameworks (e.g. Wordpress, Laravel, Symphony, Yii)
Expertise in 2+ web application frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, Laravel, Django, Ruby on Rails)
Demonstrated expertise in responsive HTML5, CSS, SASS, JavaScript and jQuery
Experienced with Linux servers and DevOps (SSH, Gulp, npm, Apache, Nginx, Git, CI tools)
Clear understanding of git branching, merging and rebasing; familiarity with git-flow
Experienced with MySQL and one other database (e.g. Postgresql, MongoDB, MSSQL)
Knowledgeable in mobile responsive CSS, and optimizing for different devices and browsers
Knowledge of DNS, cloud servers, AWS, server performance and testing environments
Experience with software integrations using custom Rest API clients
Excellent analytical skills to innovate ideas with our team and troubleshoot PHP and server related issues for our clients
Excellent written documentation
BA/BS degree or higher, or a combination of education and applicable experience
Reside within a 5-hour time difference of USA Pacific timezone, year-round
An overall positive attitude, with a passion for coding and taking pride in your work
A Big Plus
Strong frontend development skills, or pixel-perfect CSS
Expertise in React, Vue, or Angular
Experience with front-end marketing requirements - including optimization, SEO, analytics, marketing automation and event tracking (e.g. Google Analytics Events, Google Tag Manager, Marketo, Hubspot, Salesforce)
Have written Rest API clients and/or servers
Security and data privacy knowledge
Prior experience as a mentor or team lead, or as a client-facing dev
Recent experience in a digital agency environment, working with a project manager
Clean, organized code and DRY principles
Familiarity with tech startups and online marketing technology
Passionate about writing good tech documentation and enforcing process
Knowledge of Jira, kanban, Agile and QA best practice
Degree in computer science
A passion for learning and keeping up with the latest technologies
Unicorns Will Have
Experience building re-usable Wordpress themes and extensive knowledge of Wordpress
Experience maintaining high-availability, highly secure and/or enterprise systems
Knowledgeable in serverless architecture and flat-file CMS systems
Provided leadership or mentorship on distributed remote teams
Deep knowledge of software design patterns and principles of good software
Have built your own tooling or build tasks
