As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you are the epitome of technical versatility, driving innovation from backend to frontend, with an interest that skews toward the backend. You imbue quality, even in places where no one will look. You build applications considering every facet of the product life cycle, including usability, extensibility, maintenance, scalability, costs, resilience and security. Your contributions bridge the gap between user experience and technical implementation, while you develop a complete picture for how applications look, work and evolve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work across teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Devise solutions for problems which may exist “between the lines” by developing a deep understanding of our business model and workflows.
  • Modernize or “productionize” existing solutions into scalable, resilient and extensible solutions.
  • Develop and maintain scalable server-side architecture using Python or Node.js, ensuring a balance between effectiveness, time to market, maintenance and costs.
  • Manage and optimize infrastructure on AWS, implementing best practice architecture.
  • Implement measures to safeguard against security threats or vulnerabilities.
  • Guide and mentor other team members, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and apply them to operations and activities.

Who You Are

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively in a team environment, and across teams.
  • 7+ years of experience in full stack development with expertise in Python, Node.js, AWS, and React.
  • Solid understanding of both server and serverless AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, etc.).
  • Strong proficiency in both service oriented architecture and monolithic design principles.
  • Understanding of advanced maintenance workflows with IaC, CI/CD and trunk-based development.
  • Experience with clean code and scalable architecture.
  • Experience with containerization deployment such as ECS or EKS.
  • Familiarity with database technology, both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g. DynamoDB).
  • Strong understanding of front-end technologies (React, TypeScript, CSS).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a knack for performance optimization and debugging.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with Retool, Next.js.

This role offers the unique opportunity to build bespoke solutions from the ground up, reshape existing projects into stable enterprise-grade solutions while exploring the edges of the latest trends in engineering. Your work will have a lasting impact on a rapidly growing company, in a unique culture built on innovation.
