SafetyCulture Marketplace
The SafetyCulture Marketplace is a newly formed business where customers can source what they need, when they need it, to operates safely. As part of our mission to make the workplace safer we have recognised our customers often need products or services to help them resolve issues and reduce risks in the workplace. This can be as simple as needing to order more masks to protect employees or as complex as a multi-disciplinary audit of a work environment. These actions are identified in our SafetyCulture app and the mission of the Marketplace team is to make it faster, cheaper and easier for our customers to complete these actions and have a safe work environment. SafetyCulture Marketplace is global from day 1 and we are looking for our foundational leaders to work within an ambiguous environment to build an offering that delights our customers.
The tech stack
Our Marketplace runs on a modern, MACH based technology stack including Next.js (front end); .NET Core (back end); AWS, leveraging best in class technologies from commercetools, Algolia and Contentful.
The role
You’ll be responsible for owning the frontend solution of our Marketplace stack, built using next.js. You’ll work closely with the Head of Product and Technology, Marketplace and the Backend Lead to manage our approach, innovation and change across our Maretplace. You’ll own the delivery of practical solutions and solve real-world problems for customers in collaboration with internal teams and our external partners.
Essential Skills:
- Depth of knowledge in Next.js, React and associated
- Libraries/frameworksExperience working on complex, enterprise eCommerce platforms
- Ability to own delivery of complex features, break down requirements and provide reasonable estimates
- Ability to articulate effort vs impact tradeoffs
- Ability to improve others’ ability to deliver great work
- Ability to demonstrate SafetyCulture values (Think Customer, Open Honest Always, Better as a Team, Be Bold Bring Action)
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working with commercetools, Algolia or Contentful platforms
- Experience designing and building platforms following MACH principles
- Experience mentoring and teaching others
- Working with service-oriented/microservice architectures
- Experience with key/value store and relational databases (e.g. DynamoDB, Postgres, MySQL)
- Building and running SaaS or cloud services at scale
