Senior Front-end Web Developer

Heredia, Costa Rica

The Databricks web development team is looking for an experienced senior web developer to join the team responsible for Databricks' marketing websites. Your work will be the front and center to millions of our web users and you will shape and scale our digital experience.

The ideal candidate will share our passion and will join a detail-driven web marketing team. You have a good eye and you care about details.

You are eager to learn; our tools are constantly evolving. We are looking for someone who is open, honest, and positive about taking on new challenges and learning as they go.

You will report to Sr. Group Manager, Web Development

The impact you will have:

  • Develop full-scale websites and web applications using React
  • Work collaboratively with Web Marketing, Project Management, Design, Legal, Security, and Engineering to provide feedback and direction about architecture, design, and functional specifications.
  • Help manage the development infrastructure needed for web projects, including hosting, repos, and deployments
  • Assist with all our development strategy efforts, including project communication and presentations.
  • Review and improve existing internal systems and development processes.
  • Assist with converting existing websites to JAMStack (React)
  • Manage integrations and APIs
  • Create / maintain documentation and processes
  • Participate in QA and/or cross-device compatibility
  • Participate in all development lifecycle activities like release planning, coding, testing, and deployment
  • Assist in the evaluation, and roll-out of new development technologies, and frameworks

What we look for:

  • 5+ years of industry experience as a web developer using React
  • Strong background with Git, HTML5, CSS3/Less/Sass, Gulp/Grunt/Webpack, JavaScript, and jQuery
  • Tailwind CSS, Theme UI or similar
  • GraphQL (integrating with headless/decoupled CMS), REST APIs, Storybook
  • Understanding of Sign Sign On (SAML and/or Oauth)
  • Experience with design tools, such as Sketch, Figma, Photoshop, InDesign
  • Passion for web development and marketing
  • Strong front-end development skills
  • Understanding of core SEO best practices
