Senior FPGA/Hardware Design Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior FPGA/Hardware Design Engineer to join us in our Brno office as part of the platforms team. The platform team designs FPGA systems based around Codasip’s RISC-V cores and supporting IP such as security IP and system peripherals.

These platforms are used for customer evaluation/demonstration, internal prototyping and benchmarking. You will be working in a mixed skilled team including FPGA, software and verification engineers across multiple offices.

The role demands flexibility and lateral thinking. You will be working on both short-term customer-driven projects, as well as longer-term strategic Codasip products. The scope of the work is broad, varied, and technically challenging.

The job duties consist of but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the development of the RISC-V-based FPGA Platforms
  • FPGA System Integration, including synthesis and place and run
  • FPGA prototyping and bringing up of complete systems
  • IP peripheral design
  • Working closely with verification/validation and embedded software engineers to solve technical challenges

Requirements

The following skills are essential to perform the job duties:

  • At least 3 years Experience of FPGA development flows
  • Demonstrable experience in RTL design in either Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL
  • Prototyping or product experience using FPGAs
  • Pro-active problem solver, able to work individually or as a team member
  • Practical expertise in versioning tools (preferably git)
  • Ability to work with compiler/software components
  • Practical usage of Linux 

The following skills and experience are nice to have:

  • AMD-Xilinx FPGA experience
  • embedded software experience (C or Linux)
  • Experience with RISC-V processors
  • Active interest in the field and self-education
  • Knowledge of modern verification techniques
