Summary of Job
This is a senior analyst position responsible for preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and notes disclosures. Participate in the monthly, quarterly and yearly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, analysis and audit schedules. Review month end P&L and explain significant variances to budget.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Financial Statements and Reports
Coordinate and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and note disclosures in compliance with US GAAP. Prepare financial metrics/information for reporting to Board/Investors. Drives enhancements in financial reporting and analysis as well as system requirements.
Month End Close
Prepare month end journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and payroll for business unit. Review month end P&L and explain significant variances to budget.
Tax & Audit
Coordinating the quarterly and year end close process with the external auditors. Supporting schedules and working paper preparation to meet audit requirements. Consult and liaise with other departments. On a quarterly basis, record the tax provision. Overall responsibility for compiling necessary information for the annual corporate tax return.
Job Requirements
Education, Experience and Technical skill
· Minimum 5 years of experience in Finance & Accounting
· Experience with ERP systems (R), Great Plains (A)
· Strong proficiency in Excel (R)
· Accounting designation or near completion (CPA) (R)
· Post-secondary education; university degree or college diploma in accounting (R)
