Senior Finance Systems Engineer, Process Transformation

As Marqeta’s  Senior Finance Systems Engineer, Process Transformation you will perform system administration, technical training and case management duties for Sage Intacct and other financial management SaaS applications. Your chief aim is to enable users to do their best work in the apps that you help manage, enhance, repair and upgrade. 

You will primarily configure the finance apps to improve processes, elevate user experience, resolve user errors and make recommendations to improve processes that scale.

You are expected to understand end–to-end business processes and provide support for end user issues and questions, taking a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and providing resolution. You will assist in requirements gathering sessions to map business processes and requirements to solutions with a focus on streamlining accounting and financial processes. You will collaborate with other engineers to design scalable long-term solutions as the business grows.

The impact and visibility of your engineering work will directly align with strategic company-wide initiatives and drive business results.

What You’ll Do

  • Understand the company, business and technical requirements and goals
  • Perform System Admin duties for Sage Intacct and other SaaS apps
  • Understand end-to-end business processes and how systems are enabling users
  • Manage cases, troubleshoot and resolve end user requests
  • Design, build, test and deploy solutions in an Agile framework
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, IT dept and other engineering teams
  • Proactively identify innovative solutions to improve end-to-end architecture 
  • Contribute to technical strategy, approach and design documentation
  • Execute release management processes to achieve high quality deployments
  • Maintain high sprint velocity goals and estimate work effort
  • Participate in daily standups and perform stakeholder demos

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of Sage Intacct implementation and system admin experience 
  • Sage Intacct Implementation Certification 
  • Experience configuring, maintaining and supporting SaaS applications
  • Experience defining and designing finance and accounting processes
  • Experience with different modules (GL, AR, AP)
  • Experience with reporting for for month end, quarter end and fiscal year results
  • Experience with audit controls and compliance requirements
  • Experience training end users on how to use and navigate system functionality
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
  • Experience with with complex multi-phase projects
  • Clear communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling and data management principles 
  • Strong declarative knowledge, understands tradeoffs of using code
  • Ability to systematically troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Ability to reliably prioritize and complete tasks with minimal supervision

Nice-To-Haves

  • Experience maintaining systems such as Airbase, Floqast, Workiva, Planful, Expensify
