The role

As the leader of the HelloFresh Finance team in Ireland, you will be responsible for managing all relevant Finance processes while closely interacting with the local Operations and Marketing teams as well as the Global Finance team in Berlin. You will lead a growing finance team and form an important part of the leadership group for the Irish market, reporting directly into the HelloFresh Ireland CEO. We seek ambitious candidates that will bring an analytical rigor, intellectual drive and a  structured and proactive way of working, who enjoy collaborating, and are dedicated to details while managing competing priorities. Our ideal applicant has experience in FP&A, accounting and tax (food/retail industry experience is a plus but not a requirement), and is hungry to take on a challenge and make an impact at a fun, fast-growing, and mission-driven meal kit delivery service business.

What you’ll do

• Develop, lead and grow the Irish Finance team through identifying and hiring the right talent and effectively engaging, coaching and motivating your direct reports. 
• Take ownership of all things month-end close - reconciliations, month-end journals, analysis of budget variances, Group reporting pack.
• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including managing cash flows, paying supplier invoices, delivering regular and ad hoc reporting and responding to Finance-related employee queries.
• Work with the local finance team, internal and external tax advisors to ensure that all critical deadlines are met e.g. VAT returns, tax returns and statutory financial statements. 
• Lead quarterly/yearly budgeting and planning cycles.
• Work closely with local Supply Chain teams to provide insights and assist in decision making to hit bottom line financial targets.
• Responsible for finding and implementing solutions on complex issues (both financial and operational) with a constant mindset of continuous improvement e.g. day to day efficiency gains, internal control improvements and month end close process, tech/tool enhancements.
• Provide in-depth value adding analysis to both financial and non-financial senior management which could have a lasting impact on the group globally.
• Management of payroll onboarding, payment and related processes. 
• Report to the HelloFresh Ireland CEO

What you’ll bring

• Passion, drive and fantastic communication skills.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance at least; preferably a qualified CA/ACCA/CPA (or equivalent).
• A strong working knowledge of accounting concepts and standards.
• Minimum 5 years experience working in finance and accounting. 
• Previous experience of working in a fast-paced business and a role which involves hands-on accounting and a broad range of responsibilities .
• An eye and appreciation for detail and an understanding of data structures and complex systems/workflows.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets and exposure to an ERP system (experience with Oracle Fusion would be advantageous).

• Proactive, ambitious, and assertive: you take ownership of your work and think beyond the scope of a given assignment.

• Previous direct team management experience is a requirement
