The Role:

  • This role will be mainly focused (but not limited) to the operating expenses, production expenses, and capex side of the finance team and will have two direct reports and one indirect (2 UK based and 1 US based)

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure prompt and accurate month end reporting including variance analysis to budget
  • Review and post accruals, prepayments and general journals
  • Production and review of Balance Sheet reconciliations within agreed timescales to ensure controls compliance
  • Ensuring costs and capex are correctly coded and allocated between GL accounts and departments
  • Responsible for ensuring the completeness of the Fixed Asset Register
  • Liaise with internal teams & external consultants/advisors to assist with the timely filing of tax computations, statutory accounts, indirect taxes (included foreign subsidiaries)
  • Production of ad hoc reports and analysis based on business requirements
  • Maintain standards across the group, ensuring accounting policies, controls and procedures are reviewed and updated to facilitate seamless adoption and ongoing control
  • Improving systems and procedures, to maintain a reliable and consistent reporting & control environment
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of junior and new finance staff members
  • Review of statutory accounts / notes prepared under UK/USGAAP and provision of feedback comments and amendments
  • Assist with the onboarding of new entities, including monthly reporting, making sure all costs are identified, liaising with functional departments both at entity and group level, ensuring all information is captured

Requirements

  • Able to understand the bigger picture and how Finance's inputs and outputs can affect the business
  • Experience working within a fast growth business environment, able to prioritise in a fast moving & dynamic environment
  • Experience working with professionals of all levels, from juniors to senior management
  • Strong interpersonal and team bonding skills to contribute to company values and team culture
  • Proactive and hands-on achiever, with good attention to detail
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and team bonding skills to contribute to company values and team culture
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with Netsuite would be a bonus

Desired qualifications

  • ACCA / CIMA qualified or equivalent - required
  • Minimum of three years of post-qualification experience – required
  • Experience in media industry – desirable
